The other day on payday i was thinking which products should i buy from my wishlist. I have so many products on my wishlist, i don't think I'll ever get time to buy them all. But one palette that's been on my wishlist for as long as i can remember is the Balm Jovi Rockstar Palette.
I wish The Balm was sold in the UK more as all they're products look so cute and I've only heard great things about them. The palette has 12 eyeshadows, 2 cream lip/cheek products, a powder highlighter and a powder blush. Solid Gold, the highlighter, is actually their product Mary-Lou Manizer renamed and the blush Don't you want me? is their FratBoy Blush/Eyeshadow which to me is great as it means i can test them out before i buy them as separate products.
The packaging is super cute, very vintage and just generally great. It's slim and compact, so doesn't take up much room. It even has a little mirror, in an adorable heart shape. The packaging feels real sturdy which is always a plus as i hate flimsy packaging. I love the bright colours on the packaging and i love how if you open up the bottom compartment, it gives you some idea's for looks you can create with the palette, styled to look like the Billboard charts. Each of the eyeshadows names are a funny take on real bands/rockstars names, which to me makes this palette even better.
As for the quality of the actual products themselves, i was beyond impressed with this palette. All of the eyshadow's have amazing pigmentation and felt so velvety smooth to touch. Some of the lighter colours like "Adiago" and "Third Eye Blinded" were very hard to photograph as they're quite close to my natural skin tone. You get 4 Mattes: Adiago, Allegro, Moderato and Presto. While the other 8 are shimmer. So far, my favourite shades have been Metal-ica, Alice Copper, Adiago and The Stroke. It has a lot of different shades in there from neutrals to a dark navy with blue shimmer.
Disco Disco (Mary Lou Manizer) is a gorgeous golden highlight, that when blended out looks so beautiful when it catches the light. Don't you want me? (FratBoy) is a gorgeous matte pinky coral which is brilliant for a flush of colour on the cheeks. The two lip/cheek products are lovely but Vanilly is easily my favourite out of the two and comes up more of a Hot Pink on the skin rather than the Red in the pan.
I'd definitely recommend this palette to anyone else who loves to try new looks and likes to experiment. I can't wait to try more from The Balm Cosmetics now as this palette has really impressed me.
Have you tried anything from The Balm? Tell me in the comments!
Lots of love,
