MUA Matte Lipstick "Pouty Pink" ♥

Recently, i went on a bit of a lipstick splurge. When I'm shopping for make up i will, more often than not, have mostly face products. A brand i always look out for when it comes to new releases is MUA, as they're product are very low in price but they've got some gems in their lines. When i saw they'd released a line of matte lipsticks, i couldn't wait to get my hands on them and test them out.

Make Up Academy (MUA) Matte Lipstick in "Pouty Pink" (£1) was a bit of a let down for me. In my opinion, their products either really impress me or they fall short of my expectations. For me, the problems with this lipstick were although the shade is really lovely, it was too sheer for me. I've always found matte lipsticks to have better colour pay off but with this lipstick, i had to keep running this over my lips repeatedly to see a difference which brings me onto my next problem. The formula. It was so dry and hard to use. Applying this to my lips felt like i was hurting myself. They're weren't soft or creamy, like I'd come to expect of matte lipsticks but very drying on the lips and literally tugged at my lips while applied. I personally feel that this product emphasized any lines on my lips or cracks.

I love MUA as a brand, and of course no brand is perfect. There are bound to be products i don't like from every brand.

Have you tried this product? What did you think? Tell me in the comments!
Lots of love,
Rosie xo

  1. I got the same one about a month ago! It was absolutely awful and barely showed up x

  2. I got the wild berry shade a couple weeks ago and was equally as disappointed. Far too sheer and I couldn't even build it up as every time I tried to it would go patchy or just come off. Not impressed in the slightest! The only plus I found was mine was slightly moisturising so I suppose I could use it as a lip balm!

  3. I've heard nothing but bad things about these lipsticks which is a shame as the original MUA lipsticks are really good :(
That really is super sheer for a matte lipstick, I can't imagine what your lips must have been like if you had to keep pulling the lipstick across your lips to get the colour :(
