2014 Empties #1 ♥

As someone who is constantly trying new products, i find it really really hard to finish them off for some reason! I always end up with about 10 bottles of shampoo with a few uses left and i just buy more. I've been making an effort recently to try and use up any products before buying new ones (only because i have no money to buy new products with though, mind you)...

Most of what I've used up is haircare and skincare! First hair care product is the Argan Oil Hydrating Hair Mask (£1 Home Bargains) which i have a full review of it here. I love this as it makes my hair silky soft and healthy. For only £1 it's such a brilliant price and I've already repurchased it! Next up is another hair mask and it's the L'Oreal Elvive Smooth and Polish Hair Masque which i wasn't particularly impressed with. It did an alright job with conditioning my hair but that was it. I like to use a hair mask twice a week to keep my hair looking as healthy as can be so i won't be repurchasing this. The last piece of hair care is the Macadamia Oil Healing Oil Treatment* which I've loved for ages. This tiny little bottle took me ages to finish and it always smells so lovely and makes your hair soft, shiny and sleek.

Now, onto skincare... First up is the Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm* which i loved! I found it so easy to remove all make up with this - even waterproof mascara and eyeliner. It's super gentle so it didn't irritate my sensitive skin either which is always a massive plus in my book. I think i will end up purchasing this again as it just works so well. I have also finished a sample of the Balance Me Pure Skin Face Wash which i enjoyed using. It made my skin feel really clean and refreshed and as always with BalanceMe it was suitable for sensitive skin. Big win for me! Lastly, i finished the Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask which i can't wait to repurchase. This makes your skin feel super soft and clean after use. It really helps unclog pores and get rid of any nastiness in general.

What have you used up recently? Tell me in the comments!

My Current Haircare Routine! ♥

Lately I've found a haircare 'routine' that really suits me. I've been dying my hair for over 8 years now and i used to straighten it everyday so over the years my hair has taken a lot of damage. Over the past 2 years, I've been working on keeping my hair as healthy as possible and finding the best products to help with that and until recently, i wasn't all to happy with my routine. But, as i said, I'm now quite happy with it. To some, it'll seem like a lot of product but to others, it might seem like nothing!

First up, one of my favourite shampoo's is the Argan Oil Shampoo (£1.99 Home Bargains). I love this as it keeps my hair feeling and looking smooth, shiny and healthy. It lathers up well and thoroughly cleans my hair. My hair always feels really lovely after using this especially when i pair it with....

Now onto hair masks/deep conditioning, i don't do this everyday but once or twice a week is normal for me. I have fallen in love with the Argan Oil Hydrating Hair Mask (£1 Home Bargains) i wrote a whole review here, telling you why i love it so much. It makes the ends of my hair feel so soft and healthy and smells lovely too! I never blow dry my hair but once it's just damp, i always add a pea sized amount of TRESemmé Split Remedy to the bottom 1/3rd of my hair. This stuff smells so lovely, like candyfloss and keeps my split ends at bay for longer (meaning less money spent at the hairdressers!). Next i use my Argan Oil and apply a 2 pence sized amount to the lengths and ends of my hair. This keeps my hair looking shiny and sleek and just generally being an all round god send really.

When it comes to heat protectant, i always use the TRESemmé Heat Defense Styling Spray which as well as smelling nice and stopping my hair getting ruined everytime i come at it with a straightener, but always stops any frizziness and makes my hair extra shiny!

Do you use any of these products? Tell me in the comments!

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick 'Natives' Review! ♥

I love Urban Decay. I may have a bit of a spending problem every time I'm around a counter of theirs but it's a problem i can live with. I've always loved their palettes, as long as I've been using make up and recently have been making an effort to try more of their non-palette make up items. Which lead me to buying....

The Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Natives (£15 Debenhams) has got to be one of the most gorgeously packaged lipsticks. Sleek and shiny, it's so pretty i want to display it on my vanity forever. I picked up Natives after the lovely girl who was working, talked me into it as she loved it and was wearing it then. It's a gorgeous pinky-nude which i love to wear with a smokey eye. The formula is lovely, really creamy so it glides onto the lips effortlessly. It stays on quite well, a good 4-5 hours without needing a touch up, even through food and drink. It has a slight staining effect on the lips which makes it last a while and it even helps keep lips feeling soft and hydrated.

I'm so impressed by the quality of these lipsticks, I'd maybe go as far as to say they're better than my MAC ones! I can't wait to try more of the colours as they have a seriously gorgeous shade range.

MUA Matte Lipstick in Peachy Keen! ♥

I recently posted a review of one of the new MUA Matte Lipsticks here, and i wasn't too impressed to say the least. I bought these two shades at the same time while on a lipstick binge a few weeks ago.

Like with 'Pouty Pink' i wasn't happy with this product. Once again, the formula was so dry it tugged at my lips when applied. The only thing that stops this is if i apply a lip balm beforehand but that ruins the matte effect. Although the shade is called "Peachy Keen" it's actually more of a peachy coral, which admittedly is a really lovely colour. The one thing this shade has which Pouty Pink didn't is that it's actually got very good colour pay off, which is a pity as if the formula was creamy or soft I'd wear this everyday! But sadly, this lipstick clung to all the dry parts of my lips and emphasised them a lot. These are the first MUA products I've tried that have really disappointed me as usually i love their releases.

Collection "Bedazzled" Palette! ♥

While shopping recently, i decided to pick up the Collection Bedazzled Eyeshadow Palette (£4.19) as i loved the Smokey eye version. I thought it would be ideal for nights out as glitter can be a great way of adding that extra bit of glam into a look. But, in the end i was very disappointed.

I found the shades to be very poorly pigmented, resulting in me having to continually reapply to build up any colour except with two shades (the bronze and the purple). As you can see from the photo, these aren't all that shimmery or glittery at all. All the glitter in the pan seems to just disappear as soon as you apply the eyeshadow to the skin except with the silver, which was very glittery. I chose this palette because it had a range of colours i was really excited to try, especially the black and the teal. Unfortunately, the black was very chalky and took several swatches to become opaque. The shadows weren't long lasting - they flaked off for the most part within an hour or two. All in all, i was very disappointed. I went into this with high hopes, hoping it would be as good as their smokey palette, but sadly i couldn't get this to work for me at all. This is the first Collection product I've had a problem with.

Kissable Lips? ♥

As Valentines Day is coming up i thought I'd make a little post about how to get your lips all soft and kissable! Whether you're with a long term partner or maybe on a date, if you're going to be kissing, lets get your lips ready!

First, i like to exfoliate my lips using a lip scrub like the Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub to remove all dry or dead skin from my lips. I like to use a toothbrush with this to really remove any unwanted skin and leave my lips smooth and polished. Next, i like to apply lip balm to keep my lips hydrated and plump! My favourite is the Vaseline Cocoa Butter as it really makes my lips very soft and hydrated without feeling greasy on my lips. I like to apply this throughout the day and before i go to bed too, to keep my lips nice all day long!

Nude Lips:
If you're a girl who prefers to go for the nude lip, my two favourite options are the Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in "Native" (£15) or the Deborah Milano Shine Creator Lipstick in "1" (£8.50*). Whenever i apply a nude lip, i like to apply any excess foundation from my brush to my lips before applying lipstick.

Pink Lips:
When it comes to pink lips, i much prefer lighter pinks - not too barbie-esque. My favourite pink lip products are the Rimmel Kate Moss Lipsticks in "101" or the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in "Tokyo" which are both lovely on. Very light and pretty, but not too out there! I love using the Maybelline ColorSensational Lipliner in "Sweet Pink" with either as it's the perfect "my-lips-but-better" colour.

Red Lips:
I'm of the belief, you can't beat a good red lip for a special occasion, it's sexy and timeless. Some of my most used red lip products are the Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in "024 Red Diva", NYX Megashine Lipgloss in "Perfect Red" and Rimmel Apocalips In "Big Bang". All three of these products are very bright and stay on for ages.

Which colour will you be going for? I'll be going for a nude lip! Tell me in the comments!
Lots of love,
Rosie xo

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter "Sugar Plum" ♥

Raise your hand, if you too, gave into the hype surrounding the Revlon Lip Butters since they were first released? *raises hand* The Revlon Lip Butters have been a beauty guru and beauty blogger favourite for ages. I've seen hundreds of rave reviews about them and everyone seems to swear by them.

I personally really like the Revlon Lip Butters. They've got a lovely shade range, they're hydrating and feel lovely on the lips. Despite pretty much being a tinted lip balm, each shade has a different level of pigmentation. I do like the shiny colour from the Lip Butters especially considering they don't feel greasy like some really shiny lipsticks do. As someone whose lips can get quite dry and chapped, wearing these (especially in Winter) can be such a treat for my lips!

This shade is called "Sugar Plum" and is a very plummy pink. It's a lovely "my-lips-but-better" colour, very very close to the colour of the tube. It looks slightly similar to MAC's Syrup. There doesn't seem to be any shimmer unlike some of the other Lip Butter shades. They last reasonably well - a couple of hours. They don't bleed so there's no mess to clean up with these. All in all, they're a great product and "Sugar Plum" is a colour I've been really enjoying wearing!

Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette! ♥

Hey guys! I'm back with another review of a lovely palette from Urban Decay that my lovely mother bought me for Christmas! The Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette contains 15 beautiful eye shadows in all different colours!

The palette has a range of colours including neutrals, bright colours and smokey shades. My favourite colours in this palette are "Deep End", "Deeper" and of course "Blackout". I love the different colours in this palettes, it's easy to create any eye look with this palette. As with all Urban Decay shadows, the formula is lovely, soft and easy to blend. The pigmentation is so strong and all the shades are beautiful. There is a reason that Urban Decay are my favourite brand for eye shadows - high and low end. They last well even without a primer - a good 6+ hours before they start to fade and even longer with a primer. I'll let the swatches speak for themselves!

I love this palette and this has made me remember why i love Urban Decay palettes so much! Great value for money with beautiful quality to their products.

January Favourites! ♥

Wow, the first favourites of 2014! I've now been blogging over a year and i hope I've come a long way too. January is always cold for me and normally wet too. So, for once i have barely any make up in my monthly favourites!

I've been loving the Argan Oil Hydrating Hair Mask and wrote a full review praising it (read review here). It only costs £1 and it's easily the best I've used, it keeps my hair looking soft and healthy! I literally could rave about this forever, but seriously try it! The only make up item in my favourites this month is the Wet N Wild Color Icon Trio in "Walking On Eggshells" it's a lovely little neutral trio which easily lasts all day and has a lot of colour pay off (I reviewed the trio here).

The cold weather has been wreaking havoc on my skin but my lips have been the biggest victim to this weather! I've had really dry and chapped lips which is really not a good look nor is it comfortable! The Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub has been a Savior this month! I've been using this a couple of times a week to get rid of any nasty dead skin on my lips. This along with my Cocoa Butter Vaseline to keep my lips soft and hydrated through these cold winter months. My last favourite for this month has been The Yankee Candle Tealights in "Fireside Treats" which has been a welcome treat for me this month. It's been so dull and wet outside that I've been loving this scent, it smells like roasting marshmallows over a fire, it's just lovely!

There you go, my 2014 January Favourites!

What are your favourites this month? Tell me in the comments!
Lots of love,
Rosie xo
