Origins Skincare Haul! ♥

As much as i love shopping for make up, i swear i am addicted to shopping for new skincare products to use. It's strange to think a few years ago, I'd have been content to 'remove' my make up with a wet wipe. Now? I have a full routine every morning and evening...

The first product i picked up while browsing the Debenhams beauty haul is the Origins Super Spot Remover (£15) which I've seen a few reviews of. I tend to get spots around my chin area so this hopefully will sort those out in no time! I've tried one of the Origins face masks before and it's the product i know them for. I decided to choose two that i hadn't tried yet to see if they could live up to my high expectations. I picked up the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask (£23) which I've been wanting to try for ages. I've used the regular 10 minute version which i loved. I have really dry skin so this hopefully will give my skin some much needed moisture. Lastly, i grabbed the Origins Out of Trouble (£23) which is designed for 'problem skin'. I don't have problem skin but at certain times of the month, my skin doesn't look so great and i break out. I'm hoping this can combat that!

I can't wait to try more Origins products!

Sleek Faceform Palette 'Light' Review! ♥

Sleek is a brand that I've liked everything I've tried of theirs, but don't try new things very often. I always forget to check Superdrug when I'm looking for new make up. But I've heard so many people talking about the face form palettes, i couldn't resist finally picking myself up the lightest shade. I contour my face everyday so I'm always looking for new products.

The Sleek Face Contour Kit 'Light' (£9.99) is actually light enough for me, hallelujah. The contour shade is dark enough to actually work but not so dark i look like i have mud on my face like some contouring powders can do. I always contour my cheeks and down the sides of my nose and this was great for subtly making my face look thinner and making my cheek bones look defined. The blush is rose gold and very shimmery - it's pretty though it can be a bit sparkly for every day especially if you pair it with the highlighter. The highlighter is a lovely light golden shimmer which looks great on the 'high' points of your face. I apply my make up at 7:30am and it's still intact when i get home at 6pm.

my contouring guide
For only £9.99 you're getting a travel friendly palette with three shades that are all generous sizes. There is a big mirror in there too which is always helpful too. I'd definitely repurchase this again!

Autumn is coming! ♥

As much as i love Summer, Autumn is my favourite season for make up. I love dark sultry colours and it's much easier to pull off a dramatic look in my opinion. I've had a look through my make up collection and found a few products that i can't wait to start using once the weather turns a bit cooler...

I love blush, as everyone knows, I'm a bit of a blush addict but the Maybelline Expert Wear Blush in 'Flash Plum' is a gorgeous plum blush with soft golden shimmer. It makes your cheeks stand out and like you've just walked through the cold.

For eye products I'm looking forward to using, i can't wait to use my Maybelline ColorTattoo in 'Metallic Pomegranate' which might be one of the most beautiful cream eyeshadows i have ever seen. True to it's name it's a burgundy/dark purple with lots of golden shimmer. It goes great as a base or on it's own as a pop of colour. The Bourjois Smokey Eyes Palette in Rose Vintage is a gorgeous shadow trio with amazing colour pay off and the 2 perfect autumn smokey eye shades. These last all day too which is always a huge bonus to me....

For lips, i love love love wearing the Maybelline 24hr Lipstick in 'Always Plum' which not only has the best scent ever but it's such a deep, rich burgundy that it stands out anywhere. I love using this though i know some people don't like dramatic colours on themselves but this lasts ages though it can be a little drying! For lipgloss, the theBalm BalmShelter Lip gloss in 'Material Girl' is a gorgeous dark red - it can be quite sticky which means it stays on for ages even for a lipgloss.

Garnier PureActive Face Wash! ♥

Despite the fact my skin normally is dry and sensitive, it decided this summer to test me. So, i ended up with a suddenly oily t-zone with dryness everywhere else. Thanks for that skin! I rushed out to buy a new face wash that could help me combat any oily parts of my face without drying out the rest.

I picked up the Garnier PureActive Anti-Blackhead Deep Pore face Wash. I've used Garnier skincare for years on and off, so it's a brand i trust. I have a rather extensive daily skincare routine which keeps my skin looking as good as i can get it. After removing most of my make up i use this in the shower and gently massage into my skin. I pay extra attention my nose and t-zone area.
I don't have a problem with blackheads - i don't get many but i have seen a slight improvement where i have next to none since using this. This wash foams up well and you can feel how well it's worked once you rinse it off. My skin feels soft and squeaky clean without drying the non oily areas of it. After i work out, my skin always feels in need of a little TLC and this is really working for me!

Wet n Wild Don't Steal My Thunder! ♥

I don't know about you but there are two things i just can't say no to. Dramatic eyes and a bargain. Thankfully, today's post is about a product which combines the two! While i was in Los Angeles at the beginning of the summer, i made it my mission to pop into a couple of their infamous drugstores to get my hands on some great bargains. There wasn't any big stores near our hotel in downtown but thankfully, the one brand i was looking for was stocked everywhere

Ever since i started watching youtube and reading blogs, I've heard about Wet n Wild so much. Every youtuber and their dog has raved about their eyeshadows. I've tried one or two products from their line but I've had my eye on this trio for a long time. Wet n Wild ColorIcon trio in 'Don't steal my thunder' ($2.99) is so up my street. I'm a big fan of the smokey eye look and god knows, i don't already have around 10 shades of black eyeshadow....

The formula of the ColorIcon shadows is really impressive. They're silky smooth, soft and blend so well. There is no compromising on pigmentation though so this palette is not for the faint hearted. All the Wet n Wild eyeshadow palettes have where they should be applied embossed onto them. The silver is breathtaking all over the lid - it stays shimmery for hours and doesn't crease. The browbone shade is very light but makes a great contrast again the black crease shade. If you love a dramatic smokey eye that lasts all night but also costs next to nothing - i recommend searching around for this little beauty!

Cocoa Butter Bodycare! ♥

Sometimes you pick up a product randomly and it ends up being the most perfect for you, which is always a welcome surprise. While i've been on a diet/exercise routine these last few weeks i've also been making sure to look after my whole body better too. Making sure my skin is moisturised and most importantly, doing something to help my awful stretch marks.

As awful as stretch marks are, they are sadly a fact of life. I've had mine for a few years now and they make me not want to wear shorts or dresses in the summer without tights. I've heard for years that Cocoa Butter is great at combatting stretch marks. Cocoa isn't a miracle product, nothing is going to get rid of stretch marks completely but helping to reduce the appearance of them is a step in the right direction for me.

I've been using the Cocoa Firming Butter for around a month now and i've definetly seen a difference in my skin. I do get very dry skin on my legs, shoulders and arms which has definetly been much easier to manage since i started using these. The Body scrub helps to exfoliate my skin and get rid of any dead skin i have then the Firming butter helps rehydrate my skin and make it feel smoother, softer and much healthier. Another huge bonus, is i end up smelling like a giant chocolate bar, who doesn't want that?!

The Body Shop Haul! ♥

Recently, while browsing the Internet, i made a cheeky order on the Body Shop website when i noticed they had a 40% offer going on. i don't know about you, but i love buying bodycare items. A girl just can't have enough body lotions or butters, can she?

I've always enjoyed using the Body Shop Body Butters but i hadn't tried the Shea one before so i made sure i picked up the Body Shop Shea Body Butter (£7.80 200ml) as I'm almost out of my current body lotion. I use body butter/lotion everyday so I'm constantly needing a new one! This might be TMI but i get really, really dry skin on my feet so i grabbed a few goodies to try and combat that so i can wear some nice heels soon. I got the Body Shop Moisture Socks (£4.20), Body Shop No More Rough Stuff Pumice (£2.40) and the Body Shop Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue (£5.40). Because who doesn't want soft feet....

Thanks to Sophia from Tattooed Tealady I've been lusting after the Body Shop Honey Bronzing Powder (£7.80) for a long time and finally purchased it, so thanks Sophia! I also got a new face mask which is the Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Mask (£7.80) as well as the Body Shop Satsuma Body Mist (£4.50) because i love smelling like a fruit salad.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish! ♥

Please tell me I'm not the only person who buys a product that everyone goes on about? I've been hearing Youtubers and bloggers raving about the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser for absolutely ages. Finally, at Christmas my lovely mother in law gave me a Liz Earle set which included this and I've been obsessed with it since. I was worried it wouldn't live up to the hype, but i was pleasantly surprised.

I use this everyday to remove my make up with a clean muslin cloth. I always apply a pea sized amount onto my hands and rub all over my face but giving extra attention to my eyelids and nose/cheeks area where i use the most make up. I take it all off with a muslin cloth covered in warm/hot water. This effortlessly takes off everything from my foundation to my waterproof eyeliner and mascara, even my Benefit They're Real which is notoriously hard to get off.

The 'Cleanse' is right as it is easily the best cleanser I've tried so far and the 'polish' comes from when you are removing the residue with the cloth, you are dead skin cells and leaving behind radiant looking skin. The Cocoa butter inside makes your skin feel very soft even before you apply any moisturizer.

It's so gentle that my skin doesn't feel sore after which some cleansers have done. I always double cleanse, out of habit but this gets off 85% of my make up in one go. I've been using this everyday for the past 6 weeks and it's still nowhere near empty, and that's only a smaller size. It is a bit on the pricey side but it's worth it.

Weight loss Update: Week 4! ♥

First of all, i wanted to start off this post by thanking all of the lovely people who wished me luck and congratukated me on twitter and Instagram about this weight loss update. You're making me feel so positive!

It's been like 11 days since my last update and so far so good! I've made a few changes - little ones but they're definetly paying off. I bought an exercise machine - a stationary bike - to use everyday to help get me doing some exercise. I've never been an active person but i'd really like to change that! I've been doing 25-30 minutes each day and i've been getting compliments at work ever since. I have to be really careful about exercise with my ME but so far, i haven't had any problem so i will keep at it!

I have a new favourite low calorie meal - which always fills me up and leaves me satisfied. I have one or two Quorn BBQ Fillets (88cal each) with a half bag of Golden Vegetable Rice (188cal).  This means i can eat a couple of snacks throughout the day and not worry about being drawn to the wrong foods.

I have noticed changes in my body now - my tummy is definitely looking slimmer and my bum is also getting perkier (finally). I need to buy some weights to help tone my arms and maybe another exercise machine too, to mix things up a bit!

I'm so happy i've lost 11lbs so far, only 24 more to go!

Thanks for all your encouragement guys!
Lots of love,
Rosie xo

Makeup Revolution Nude Lips! ♥

It's back to the brand everyone is talking about at the moment... Makeup Revolution. I love finding great bargains, why spend £10 when you can spend £1 and get the same quality? I've loved Makeup Revolution since i made my first order from them a month or so ago now and i just can't stop trying new things!

I'm a sucker for a dramatic eye/nude lip combo. My personal favourite is the smokey eye and really pale nude lips. I've yet to find a single person who doesn't look great with a nude lipstick on. I've been trying 5 lip products in various shades of nude from Makeup Revolution and well, I'm impressed.

First up is the Salvation Intense Lacquer* (£3) in 'More than i could give'. I like lip lacquers, for the fact that you get intense colour and staying power. If you're into a more pink toned nude lip, this is definitely the best product for you. It feels light on the lips when it dries, stays on for a few hours and stay opaque easily. For any dry/chapped lip ladies out there, there is an answer to your prayers: the Amazing Care #happylips Lipstick* (£3) in 'Love Nude!' which has an outer layer of Argan Oil to help keep your lips hydrated. The hydrating later does end up sheering out the colour, which is the problem i faced with this product but at least my lips felt nice!

The I ♥ Makeup Lipstick* (£2.49) in 'Rising Pulse' is the cutest thing. The lipstick in the tube is shaped like a heart - which is a really lovely touch! The colour is a very pale nude which thankfully isn't so pale you look like you have foundation on your lips. It's smooth and creamy to apply which is why it's also my favourite of the bunch! If you prefer a deeper or more brown toned nude the I ♥ Makeup Lip Geek* (£2.99) in 'Never be a Millionaire' is the solution. Personally, i don't suit the darker nudes but this is moisturising, opaque and has a glossy finish. Last but definitely not least, is my personal second favourite which is the Amazing Lipstick* (£1) in 'The One' which is a very light pink toned shade with great staying power.

July 2014 Favourites! ♥

Is it August already? I swear it was only January a few days ago....

July was a really busy month for me. I started blogging regularly again which does take a lot of time and effort. I always try and introduce new products into either my skincare, body care or make up routines. I''m just like every other beauty obsessed girl out there, I'm searching for holy grail products (this is the excuse i use to justify my spending!).

July's first favourite is the Makeup Revolution Focus & Fix Eyebrow Shaping Kit in 'Light-Medium' (£2.50) which is the first brow kit I've tried. I've always been a pencil kind of person because I've always been a little scared of these kits, in case i end up looking like i have a monobrow. The kit is light enough that it doesn't look weird with my blonde hair but dark enough to blend in with my natural brow colour. I've found it really use to define and shape my brows and they look great all day! Next is the BalanceMe Moisture Rich Face Cream* (£24) which i started to use again recently. It's great as a morning moisturiser as it gives my skin  a much needed boost and helps to keep my dry skin at bay throughout the day without making my skin feel heavy. My skin always feels really smooth and soft when i use this and makes my make up go on a lot easier.

I am obsessed with foundations and my newest love is the Revlon PhotoReady in Vanilla (£12.99) which is a great medium coverage foundation. It's made as the name suggests, to not make you look like casper in photographs. It hides blemishes and any discoluration on my face but still doesn't clog up my skin or fade too much throughout the day! As it's summer, I've been making a note to use bronzer a lot more often. I've always raved about the NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in "Sunny" (£1.99) which is literally a pale girls best answer for contouring. It isn't muddy or too dark but it literally works so well and blends so easily to help all of us look like we have Kim K's cheekbones! Lastly I've been using the ELF Studio Lip Exfoliator (£3.95) everyday as it's just so convenient. Much less messy than any other lip scrub I've used. It buffs off any dead skin and leaves my chapped lips primed and ready for some statement lipsticks!

What have you been loving this month? Tell me in the comments!
Lots of love,
Rosie xo
