Max factor False Lash Effect Mascara! ♥

I can't be the only one who when someone says 'false lash effect mascara' they immediately think of Benefit's They're Real? To me, it's my favourite mascara. So, when i saw that Max factor had one that claimed to do the same thing i put it straight into my shopping basket. At £10.99 it's a lot cheaper than Benefit.

I have to say, i wasn't wowed by the Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara . For me, if a mascara claims to give you the false lash effect - I'm thinking quite a lot of lengthening and a lot more volume. unfortunately, i wasn't that wow-ed by this mascara. It did give me some volume but not enough in my opinion and my lashes never looked particularly lengthened. I found it's good enough for day to day wear but if I'm wanting a more dramatic look i wouldn't be reaching for this.

With 2 coats of Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara
Despite being waterproof, i didn't have too much trouble removing this unlike the effort it takes to remove They're Real. Thankfully, i haven't noticed any smudging from this mascara at all or any flaking which is always a plus side. For me, i have other high street/drugstore mascaras i prefer and i probably wouldn't repurchase.

The Perfect Lipstick? ♥

Is there anything better than finding a product and falling in love with it? Even better if it's a proper bargain too. Like most bbloggers, i seem to have a million different lipsticks in hundreds of shades and finishes. I'm always on the lookout for the perfect everyday colour, neutral but not too nude but it has to look natural - a my lips but better lipstick.

Well, i think i might have found that in the Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick in 'Apple Blossom'*. The lipstick is a light, dusty rose shade and isn't particularly shiny despite the name. One the lips, it looks really natural and pretty. It lasts well, i normally re-apply this after a couple of hours. The name of the lipsticks may be 'moisture shine' but not all of the shades have any - some like this are more semi- matte than anything.

This is the perfect 'my-lips-but-better' shade for me and i do end up reaching for this more often than not if I'm wanting to pair a dramatic eye with a subtle lip or even just as a neutral lip for everyday wear.
It's only £1.99 too which is a proper bargain too. I'll definitely be trying more shades from the Natural Collection after being so impressed with this one.

The Versatile Blogger Award! ♥

First off, i want to say a massive thank you to Melody from Glam Fire Diaries for nominating me in her post. Its means a lot so really, thanks a lot and I'm glad I've discovered your blog through this!

Basically, the rules of this are that you nominate 15 people that you love and share 7 facts about yourself. Lets go!

1. I cannot sing but i am constantly singing. At work, in the bath... I've even caught myself singing out loud a few times at the gym which is pretty embarrassing to say the least.

2. I've been to at least 300 gigs in the last few years. I've seen You Me at Six, All time Low, Prodigy, Mayday Parade and many more but the band I've seen the most are my close friends Fort Hope who had their Radio One Debut this week.

3. I love watching movies but my favourite films are either Horror movies or Disney movies. I'm obsessed with movies like The Little Mermaid from when i was a kid but i also love watching scary movies (although it's only because they make me laugh!)

4.  I have an illness called Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (also called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) which left me bed bound when i was 14/15 - it means my muscles and joints are constantly inflamed/painful, i find it hard to walk some days and have problems with my memory and energy. If i 'over exert' myself too much, i can end up bed bound with exhaustion. I've learnt to live with this since i was diagnosed when i was 14 but it's still hard every day and it's not something i speak about often.

5. I've had over 35 piercings in my life but currently only have 6 in. I only have two small tattoos on my left wrist but i'm planning more.

6. I'm only 5"6 but i'm tallest girl in my family by far and i've towered over my mum since i was 13. Despite being average height, i have really big feet and wear size 9/10s!

7. My biggest fear is slugs and snails. They creep me out way too much. Spiders, Snaked and Heights? I'm fine with them but i see a slug outside my house? I turn into a hermit until its summer again!

Once again, Thanks for tagging me Melody!

Max Factor Colour Correctors! ♥

I admit that i don't feel comfortable going out with make up a lot of the time. Like everyone, i have problems with aspects of my appearance and for me dark circles and redness on my face are what i hate the most on myself. While on a recent trip to Boots, i spotted a couple of new products at the Max Factor stand - a line of 'colour correctors'. There are 5 shades and i have 2 - green to counteract redness and light pink to correct dark spots.

I've been using these for week or so and i've seen a massive difference so far. I apply this after my primer and dot onto the problem areas and blend before applying my foundation. I have a lot of redness on my cheeks and nose with dark circles under my eyes and dark spots around my chin and nose too. I've found these work really well without looking obvious too as they blend so easily onto the skin. I was scared they would make my skin look chalky but thankfully not. They last all day under my foundation and don't tug on my skin when being applied as they're so soft.

The other shades are Yellow (under eyes), Champagne (highlighter) and Purple (dullness). For only £8.99, they're a great addition to your make up bag to help hide any skin worries you have.

Bourjois Little Round Pot Eyeshadow! ♥

I don't know about anyone else but sometimes you find a product and you just end up loving it so much you reach for it every time you apply your make up. I like to switch up my make up looks often but i always love having a shimmery white eyeshadow for an inner corner highlight. I've been searching for the perfect one for a while - it needs to be pigmented, long lasting and be easy to apply.

I've tried a few of the Bourjois Little Round Pot Eye shadows and have enjoyed them but even i was surprised at how much i would end up using this one. The shade is a very bright white with lots of shimmer which makes it my go to inner corner highlight whether I'm going for a dramatic eye or a subtle one. I always apply this with a blending brush as i find this gives me the most control. The eyeshadow is very shimmery but it's gorgeous especially when it catches the light.

Like the other Bourjois eye shadows I've tried, the eyeshadow is long lasting and is quite pigmented but some colours need more building up than others. I've found this eyeshadow to be great for inner corner and I've had a lot of compliments on my make up whenever I've used this. The packaging is sturdy and comes with a mirror which is always useful and for only £6.99 it's a proper bargain.

Urban Decay Naked2 Basics Palette! ♥

I can admit that i am a bit of an eyeshadow palette addict and i probably own more than anyone who only has one pair of eye will ever need. I can also admit that most of my palettes are Urban decay. Urban Decay are my favourite high end brand for eyeshadow palettes. They're packaged beautiful, highly pigmented and blend like a dream. So, to complete my collection my lovely mother in law got me one for Christmas!

The Urban Decay Naked2 Basics Palette (£) is absolutely gorgeous. With 6 neutral shades and a large mirror, this is perfect for travelling or make up on the go. the six shades are: Skimp, Stark, Frisk, Cover, Primal and Undone. Like all Urban Decay eyeshadows, they're soft and blend easily. They're also highly pigmented, even the lightest colour only needs the smallest amount of building up. Undone - the darkest shade in the palette - is the most highly pigmented, you only need to lightly tap your brush. With 6 shadows, you could easily create different looks whether it be a natural everyday look or something more dramatic.

This is my first Urban Decay Basics palette and i'm in love, i doubt i'll ever travel without it now!

Do you have this palette? What do you think? Tell me in the comments!

Best Products for Blonde Hair! ♥

In case you haven't noticed but my blonde hair isn't at all natural. I have naturally medium to dark brown hair but have been dying my hair blonde for around 2 years now. I've learnt over those 2 years what products work and what doesn't. For me, since i started bleaching my hair all over the main hair worries i have are about brassy tones and keeping my hair healthy.

Toners are there to help us keep brassy tones at bay for as long as possible. I've found that my favourite one to use is the Bleach London White Toner which you can buy in Boots. It claims:

"Semi-Permanent, Nourishing hair dye to tone and transform brassy or yellow blondes to silver, platinum or white blonde. Banish yellow from your blonde!"

I only use a toner around once every 6 weeks but in the in-between i always use purple shampoo's and conditioners like the Provoke Touch of Silver Twice a week Brightening Shampoo and Conditioner. As these stop my blonde hair looking dull and keep the brightness up. These smell lovely, like perfume and you can really see a difference when you use this to counteract any yellow tones.

To keep my hair healthy, i regularly give it a treatment. My favourite product to use for this is the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Intensive Conditioner which i normally leave on for around half an hour to really give my hair some TLC. I do this every other week and just after i bleach my hair or do my roots. This keeps my hair feeling soft and healthy.

How do you keep your hair healthy? Tell me in the comments!

MAC Cool Neutrals Palette! ♥

I've been watching youtube guru's and reading beauty blogs for so long that there are some products that i get some serious product lust over. One of the main ones has been my very own MAC eyeshadow palette. Turns out though, it's extremely pricey to build your own. But earlier in the year, MAC released a couple of pre-made palettes for a fraction of the price, so of course i jumped at the chance to own one.

I've got a couple of single MAC eyeshadows and the quality is pretty good so i had an idea of what to expect.

It comes in the traditional 15 pan MAC palettes which has a transparent lid so you can see the colours. The 15 shades in the palette are (in order) - Flounce, Sweet Allure, Sun Tweaked, Blackberry, After Dusk, Pick me up, Crushed clove, Cozy Grey, Deception, Brun, Silver Fog, French Clay, Cumulus, Pearled Earth and Black Tied.

I like the variety of shades within the palette. It's easy to create multiple looks from the palette like an everyday neutral of a more dramatic smokey eye. The pigmentation on some of the shadows is better than others. The lighter colours tend to need more building up than the darker. They last well enough throughout the day especially with a primer.

For a fraction of the price of building your own, this is a pretty good deal but there are better palettes out there. i'll enjoy using this but will i buy another? Probably not.

Do you own this product? What do you think? Tell me in the comments!
