Future Home Inspiration ♥

I'm currently saving up to buy my own home so i'm spending a lot of time in the evenings browsing Pinterest to find inspiration for how i want my house to be decorated. I'm always on the look out in shops for cute home decor - i even have a loft full of stuff ready to go! I've found Pinterest to be the best place to find inspiration, even if i do end up with some serious home envy!

Some of my favourite things to search for to give me ideas have been: 'vanity', 'white home decor', 'retro kitchen' and 'shabby chic' so very generic. I love the look of some of these homes and really want to achieve something as gorgeous as this! It's only been recently that i've got into using Pinterest. My poor other half won't be allowed to decorate with me clearly!

I really like white/cream home decor as it feels so clean and crisp and you can make a statement with whatever accessories you put in there.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion ♥

I was very lucky at Christmas to get absolutely spoilt by my other half. One of the lovely presents he got me was my own Clinique 3 Step Skin care set for Dry to very dry skin. I've always had problems with dry skin - i have very dry patches on my face mostly around my nose and I'm constantly trying to add some moisture into my skin so it doesn't flake or get any worse.

I've really liked using this moisturiser - it sinks into my skin so quickly meaning i can start putting my make up on or get into bed almost straight away with no waiting around. It's gentle on my sensitive skin and doesn't cause any inflammations at all. I've noticed improvements with some of the drier patches on my face - especially around my nose which often flakes and hasn't been since i started using this. I always moisturise twice a day - before i do my make up in the morning and when i go to bed at night. This moisturiser soothes any sore patches of skin too which is always a big plus.

I will definitely be repurchasing this when i eventually run out - and i do use this as part of the 3 Step Skincare and will repurchase it all.

Foundations for Pale Skin ♥

I've come to terms with the fact I'm quite pale over the years. But if you're pale too, you'll know the daily struggle of finding make up that doesn't make you look orange. Thankfully I've found a few bases recently that are great matches for my pale skin. I have three today - though there are more these are just current favourites.

The Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Foundation in Light Beige is a current go to foundation for everyday. It gives medium coverage and is light enough to fit my skin tone. It gives enough coverage to cover my freckles and blemishes. I love the finish of this - it's very flawlessly natural - what we all wish we looked like when we woke up in the morning pretty much. It may be pale but it's still slightly darker than my skin tone naturally but it's close enough that it looks flattering and gives me a little more colour.

My other high street favourite is the Revlon Colour Stay Foundation in Buff. The coverage is medium again with this one though it can be built up to cover any problem areas.  This one is also catered to dry skin - like i have - which means there isn't any awful sticking to my dry patches (not a good look!). The formula is lovely - it doesn't feel heavy on the face at all and lasts for ages without any need for touching up.

My favourite high end foundation is also my go-to for higher coverage too. It's the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Shell. Like the others, it's not an exact match to my skin tone but a little bit darker and gives me a more glowing and healthy complexion than i naturally have. This has very full coverage - i normally save this for special occasions such as nights out as i feel it's a bit much for everyday. It stays in place really well - but can look a little shiny so i always set this with a powder. I always get compliments when i wear this on how healthy my skin looks so clearly, it's working!

If you have pale skin and want a foundation that's close to your skin tone, makes you look glowing but doesn't make you look like your trying to be an oomph loompa, I'd recommend any of the three above!

Crazy Colour Candy Floss ♥

I really like changing my hair colour. Over the years I've had so many hair colours - black, blonde, red, red and black and god knows how many other colours. A few months back i wanted to experiment with another colour but also wanted to try out this new pastel hair colour trend. I've been using Crazy Colour for years - my bright red hair was achieved using one of their dyes so i bought their hair dye in the shade 'Candy Floss'.

Crazy Colour dyes are semi-permanent which means you can use this often without having to worry about the damage to your hair. I put this onto my hair when it had been recently bleached and the resulting colour was a really light, pastel candy pink. The one problem i had, was the formula was a lot thinner than it was a few years ago so i ended up needing more than one bottle for my medium length hair. It's easy enough to apply - you don't need a hairdressing course just a pair of rubber gloves. After making sure my hair was completely covered, i left this on for the full 30 minutes.

I do really love the colour this comes out as - it's cute and an easy way to experiment with the whole pastel hair trend going on right now. Unfortunately, i found the colour only stayed in my hair until i washed it. So i would say 'semi-permanent' is a bit of an over statement, for me 'wash in, wash out' would be closer to the truth. Although, the red i used all those years ago would last a lot longer so it's most likely down to the fact it's such a light colour. I've enjoyed using this and if i feel like experimenting anytime soon, I'll definitely be grabbing another couple of bottles of Crazy Colour.

Wet n Wild I'm Getting Sunburned! ♥

There are so many brands available in the USA that we can't get here. They do have some great drugstore brands too. One I've tried a lot of and loved is Wet n Wild. I started hearing about them years ago when i first started watching beauty guru's on youtube and they were all talking about their eye shadows. Naturally, since then, I've ordered a few and bought some on different holidays and all in all I've been really impressed.

All of the other Wet n Wild palettes I've bought have been very 'neutral' so this time i thought I'd pick up one of the brighter palettes off the shelf so i ended up buying Wet n Wild Colour Icon Trio in I'm Getting Sunburned. I loved the look of the gold in the palette but was a bit unsure of what the 3 eye shadows would look like in a look together.

Unfortunately, my gut instinct was right. I personally do not like a look with these 3 combined the pink and brown look lovely together as do the gold and brown but all 3? no. I'm not very adventurous when it comes to make up and putting shimmery pink along my brow bone is way too much for me. Thankfully, i use the palette to complete other looks with other eye shadows.

The eye shadows are like all the others I've tried from this line so lovely. They feel so lovely it's hard to believe they're only $3! They glide on easily and are very pigmented and last all day easily. They're easy to blend and the colours are gorgeous. I'll definitely be buying more of the trio and quads but maybe I'll pick one a little less bright next time!

Everyday Make up Bag! ♥

I'm not going to lie - i have a ridiculous amount of make up for someone with only one face to put it on. I love trying new products and falling in love with some of them and inevitably, i end up reaching for the same ones time and time again. When it comes to my everyday make up bag, i have a real mix of brands. I have enough to do my full face and do a couple of different looks and it's what i use Monday to Friday when I'm getting ready for work.

For my 'base' make up, i have a primer, concealer and foundation. The primer i currently have in my make up bag is the Maybelline Baby Skin Primer. I find this does help my make up stay looking fresh for longer and doesn't feel heavy on my face. My current go-to concealer is the Natural Collection Cover Up Stick in Fair* which i use on blemishes and under eyes to save time. It does a really good job covering up blemishes as the formula is quite thick but sometimes it's not enough to cover my dark circles. I'm also currently loving the Revlon ColorStay Foundation in Buff which is why it's currently in my make up bag. this gives me the right medium coverage but can be built up if I'm having a bad skin day. This lasts from when i put my make up on in the morning (7:30am) all the way until i get back from the gym at 8pm.

I only keep one palette in my make up bag, though i do swap this out often, and currently this is the MUA Heaven and Earth Palette which everyone raves about. 12 Neutral shades with different finishes - i feel like i can get a variety of looks out of this with next to no effort.   For mascara, i have the Revlon Lash Potion which is great for everyday - lengthening and volumising but not 'too much'. I always have two eyeliners in here - my L'Oreal BlockBuster Eyeliner which is great for creating a cat flick and for use on the upper lash line. I also have the Rimmel ScandalEyes Eyeliner in Nude to use on my lower lash line to make me look a little more awake!

For my cheeks, i have the Sleek face Form Palette in Light to use for blush, contour and highlight. The colours work really well together and the big mirror is a massive plus too. The colours last well throughout the day too so no need for touching up either!  For my brows, i have my trusty Make Up Revolution Focus & Fix Brows which is great for on the go to fill in and define my brows.

I always pick a new lipstick anyway so that changes so often!

Cheap Make Up Storage! ♥

As much as i love the look of some youtube Beauty Guru and beauty bloggers make up storage i know that mine will never be the same. I don't have the money for Alex Drawers (let alone anywhere to put them) or hundreds of items of Muji storage. For me, i want something to be practical, look pretty and not break the bank. I also really really REALLY love shopping for home bits so here are a few of the little things i do to keep my make up collection together and looking nice.

Although the inside of those acrylic drawers look messy, i promise they are really organised. It goes:
Top Left - Foundations, Bases and Concealers,
Middle Left - Blush/Bronzers/Highlighters,
Top Right - 'small' eyeshadows
Middle Right - Eyeliners, Eye Primers and Eyebrow products
Bottom Right - Lipsticks, Lipgloss and Lip Liners.

This way i know exactly where i need to go to grab a certain product and it means i always end up using new products because i grab whatever catches my eye.

I wanted a really cute pot to put my Make up Brushes in and i found this cute on at B&M Homestores - it's mean to be a plant pot but it's the perfect size for my make up brushes and makes the area look really cute as well as going with other items in that corner of my room. It was only £1.50 too which is a massive bonus for me as i;m super stingy!

I like to organise my 'high end' palettes and have them on display at the same time as the packaging is just lovely on these. The organiser i have is actually a letter rack that i once again picked up from B&M for only £3.99. It easily fits all my Naked Palettes, theBalm palettes and my MAC Palette too. It also matches my make up brush holder too.

The acrylic drawers may not be super pretty but they're a temporary solution until i find something better. These are from another discount store and were around £6 each.

What do you use to organise your make up collection?

Little Beauty Haul! ♥

I haven't really treated myself to new beauty stuff recently as i've been so busy with work and saving up for moving out later on this year. But this weekend, i popped to my local shops to buy some necessities and as always ended up in the beauty aisles buying completely non essential items.

One of the first things i picked up was the Argan Oil Shampoo, Conditioner and Intensive hair mask. This line is one of my favourites as it always leaves my hair feeling silky soft and looking nourished. I love hair masks and the intensive hair mask always helps to keep my bleached hair in better condition, I've even reviewed this in full here.

I managed to resist the make up aisles better than usual but still ended up picking up three products. I've been wanting to try the new Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara since it was released, as i really like Maybelline's mascara's. I also thought I'd give gel eyeliner a try so i grabbed the Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner while it was £2 off. I also needed to grab one of my staple products, the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer 'Fair' which is a concealer i use quite often and always end up repurchasing.

I also needed to pick up a body scrub as i'm planning on fake tanning at some point this week so i grabbed the Soap & Glory Scrub 'em and Leave 'em Body Buff. Last but not least, i also grabbed the Vaseline Spray & Go Body Moisturiser in Cocoa Butter which i've already tried out and i'm pretty sure i'm in love with.

Have you done any beauty hauls recently?

Kat Von D Innerstellar Palette! ♥

While i was browsing through Sephroa on my trip to New York, i couldn't help but be drawn to the Kat Von D Make up stand. I think she's amazing - she's talented, she doesn't care what anyone thinks and her make up is always amazing. I'd heard a lot of good things about her make up line - but hadn't seen any of it before. Obviously, because it's me, i was drawn to the eyeshadow palette and pretty much ran to the till with it before anyone could stop me....

The Kat Von d Innerstellar Eyeshadow Palette ($46 Sephora) is absoloutley gorgeous. It's the most expensive piece of make up i've ever bought on holiday but i've used this so many times since i got back. The palette has 12 shades in what they call 'unexpected celestial nudes' which i'd agree with except for the random purple in there. The eyeshadows are a mixture of matte and shimmer finishes so there is a real variety in this palette. I am drawn to nude eyeshadows but i've been trying to incorporate brighter colours into my make up routine more and more recently so i've been enjoying using 'Lunacy' which is the purple with the pearl-like sheen.

L to R: Orion, Darkstar, Astrological, Lunacy, Dios and Night Crawler
L to R: Lycan, Vast, Graviton, Killing Moon, Moonshine and 3am.
The shadows are all soft and the formula is lovely and easy to blend. All of the colours are fairly pigmented though the lilac does take a

little building up. I was seriously impressed with the pigmentation of 'Killing Moon' which is the matte black. It's easily the most pigmented black eyeshadow i've tried - a little certainly does go a long way with this so light hands are needed! The staying power of these is good - around 6/7 hours before they start to fade.

There are loads of looks to create with this palette and i'm really happy i picked this up. It's made me very excited to try more products from Kat Von D's make up line!

My Trip to New York! ♥

I've been really lucky this year as i won a trip to New York with my work - all expenses paid! I've always wanted to go and i loved every minute of it - except the freezing temperatures! I was only there for three nights which really wasn't enough time to do everything i wanted to do but i'll definitely be going back (in the summer though!).

One of the highlights of the trip for me was the helicopter ride around Manhattan, which was amazing. It's such an iconic skyline and you see so many familiar skyscrapers - it's break taking. Another highlight for me was the Empire State Building - because well, it's in a million movies and TV shows and you can literally see everything! Thankfully i'm not scared of heights because it is SO high.

Of course i went shopping and popped into Sephora so expect some reviews coming soon of the couple of products i managed to pick up!

Hope you like my photos! ♥
