Superdrug Haul& a cheeky giveaway! ♥

You know you love a product when you rush out to buy it when you're running low on it. We all have those favourite items so when i noticed i was running low on a few of my daily must haves i ran out to Superdrug to grab some replacements.

First things first, i had to repurchase my go-to concealer, the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer which has been spoken about a million times. Its been one of my favourites for years now and i hate running out of this. I also needed a new eyeliner as mine had just packed it in that morning so decided to try something new and bought the L'Oreal Superline Perfect Slim Eyeliner which seems to be quite pigmented and easy to use when i tested it out in the shop. I also needed some new make up remover so have decided to try out the Nivea Double Effect Eye Make-Up Remover as I've heard so many great things about this for a while. As I'm addicted to buying highlighters recently, i couldn't resist popping one of the Make up Revolution Liquid Highlighter 'Liquid Starlight' into my basket as it looks too pretty to not! I had also ran out of my Garnier Micellar Water too (featured in my empties post here)  so had to pick up a new big bottle of this.

Last but not least, i had to get a new Make Up Academy Undress Me Too Eyeshadow palette which is one of my favourite high street dupes ever. It's such great value for money and so easy to create so many looks from it. As i love it so much, i am also running a giveaway below for one of these, so please enter below! UK ONLY.

Milani 2-in-1 Conceal + Perfect Foundation and Concealer ♥

As you'll know if you've been reading my blog a while. I like high coverage. I like covering up my freckles so my face is all one shade and getting rid of any blemishes i might have. But, i am always on the hunt for high end affordable options with this coverage. Most of the affordable foundations i have tried are medium coverage which i love if it's for daytime wear but for occasions or evenings, i prefer the higher coverage.

I recently picked up the Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation and Concealer. From the first time i used this, i fell in love. It easily conceals my blemishes, dark circles and dark freckles. The formula is really creamy and easy to blend - also, water resistant. For me, it's great if you don't have much time to get ready as rather than separately applying concealer and a foundation, this is both rolled into one as this is so pigmented. The finish is a matte one, which i prefer especially for this time of year.

I've luckily not found this to look cake or stick to my dry patches at all. The foundation does have quite a floral scent - which is quite noticeable.  Another great plus is they have 19 shades to choose from with detailed descriptions describing the tones - so a lot of different shades to choose from. I use Light, which is for 'fair with yellow tones'.

Blogging Goals for 2018! ♥

It's been a hell of year, 2017. I decided to come back to blogging after nearly 2 years off and fell back in love with it and have come back with more drive and determination than ever before. I went back to my favourite city in the world and came back engaged. 2018 i have decided, is going to be my year for blogging.

I'm a little bit of an overly organised person, i love my checklists and my daily planner and i always set myself goals in everything i do to help me track myself and keep pushing myself. My blogging goals for 2o18 are there to help me and please let me know if you have any blogging goals or regular goals for yourself for 2018!

  • work with new brands. I've highlighted a few that i would love to work with including LUSH and New Look but there are countless others too.
  • continue working with the brands and companies i am already working with. This is a given, i want to carry on those relationships too.
  • keep on top of my blogging schedule, every other day. making sure i am organised and have blog photos taken in advance in case of any problems.
  • improve my photography. this is a big one for me, looking back through my posts, i am not happy with the photos i had so i am taking steps to improve this skill.
  • branch out to lifestyle as well as beauty. This is a big one for me, i love reading beauty blogs but i do want to add a few more kinds of post to my blog too. to diversify.
Watch out 2018, I'm coming to get you!

LUSH Sleepy Body Lotion ♥

At this time of the year, when it's so cold and miserable outside, is there anything better than pampering yourself? I don't think so. LUSH is one of my favourite brands for body care and i love the fact their products are all fresh and handmade too.

I'm not usually the biggest fan of anything lavender scented but for the LUSH Sleepy Body Lotion i will make an exception. It's consistency is very thick and a little bit goes a long way. The cocoa butter inside really helps enrich and moisturise the skin and leaving a light, fresh scent on the skin that lasts quite a while. It's really great for this time of year, when your skin is being battered by winds and rain and generally needs a little tlc. The lavender scent really helps relax you and many have said it helps them sleep - me personally, i love any excuse to cover myself in body lotion, put on my comfy pyjamas and have an early night.

Concentrating on my chest, knees and arms this really helps keep my skin soft and stop my skin drying out. For me, it makes me want to get a hot chocolate and relax while it absorbs into my skin.

Lipstick for the Party Season ♥

Well, everyone loves December. It does have its good points - Christmas, New Years, Christmas Markets and all things shiny and glittery. For me, i love a Christmas party and you know me, i love a bold lip too. So, Winter is my favourite time for parties as there are so many lovely red toned and dark lip products to buy. I have my own little favourites which are always in my make up bag this time of year, day or night and any occasion.

A new buy for me is the MAC Lipstick in Lady Danger in their matte finish. It's a beautiful corally red colour with so much pigmentation, this little tube packs a might punch. It lasts really well on the lips with next to no drying on my lips.  The NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Damned is probably one of my all time favourites, its beautiful. It glides on and it doesn't easily smudge. It's so vampy and just i'm obsessed. Make up Revoluton Lip Euphoria is lovely a really lovely dark blood red. Its more glossy than my other choices as this is my only item in this post not matte but it's just too perfect to not include.

The Bourjois Contour Edition Lip Pencil in Plum it up! is the perfect plum lip pencil. The formula is so soft this glides onto your lips with no tugging so it's really easy to get the shape you want and the level of colour too. It makes a great base as well and really does help keep it on for longer.  The L'Oreal Matte Lip Paint in Apocalypse Red is another darker toned red. This stays on for absolutely ages and it so hard to budge - no worrying about having to re-apply this all night at your Christmas party, the hard part is getting it off.

Current Empties ♥

I'm on a mission currently to use up as many of my products as i can before i start any new ones. I have an unbelievable stash of products i accumulate and want to try out so getting rid of some products first makes sense (and i hate waste!).  These are the products I've used up over the last few weeks and here is what i thought of them.

St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mist not my favourite, i much prefer using their mousse. but this was good for quickly applying some - and made tanning my face quite easy.

Soap & Glory The Scrub of your Lift Body Scrub I love Soap & Glory and all of their body care items but i especially love their scrubs. So handy for this time of year when I'm applying fake tan and this keeps my knees/shoulders/elbows free of dry and flakey skin.

John Freida Frizz Ease 3 Day Straight Styling Spray i swear by this stuff. I have naturally very curly and frizzy hair. I always use this whenever i straighten my hair and it does keep this at bay. Will always repurchase every time.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water love this little handy bottle, I bought this to take with us on our holidays earlier this year but had a little bit extra to use up. I use a bigger bottle while at home usually, but it's very handy for removing make up.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Reviver Instant Smoother I've been loving using this - it really does smooth out my skin. Leaving a really great base for applying make up.

SuperDrug Detoxifying Dead Sea Mud Mask not very one of this, i found it aggravated my sensitive skin too much to love this. It did help with any problem areas but i found it too drying to repurchase.

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic i had this from a gift set and i quite liked it. Using after cleansing my skin always felt really smooth and fresh. Quite expensive so i might repurchase but i will be looking for more purse friendly alternatives.

Recipe for a relaxing Christmas Eve Evening ♥

I'll admit, I'm not the most 'Christmassy' of people. I do love Christmas but for me, its mostly a time to sit around with my loved ones playing board games and drinking copious amounts of red wine. But for me, there is nothing better than a cosy night in. So I've planned my Christmas eve night already as we have a lot going on in the day seeing friends and family. We've been looking online at new TV's as we watch a lot of movies so need a great TV (I need to watch Blue Planet in Ultra HD!) and we've got our eye on this one, the Panasonic Oled 4k TV. We can't wait to move house now to treat ourselves to a new entertainment system as the TV is the key to a cosy night in on the sofa!

First of all, its not Christmas Eve without a Christmas movie or two is it? We're going to be watching the Home Alone box set as it's the only Christmas movies we agree on (my favourite is Love Actually and his is Jingle all the way). If we get time, i might try and convince him to watch Nightmare before Christmas with me! This will get us into the Christmas Spirit pretty quick. Add in a couple of fluffy blankets, new pyjamas and a fire on to get us all comfy and cosy. Not to mention, all the festive tea lights we've acquired from our Yankee candle Advent Calendar which smell amazing - especially Macaron Treats and Christmas Garland. We'll also be indulging ourselves with a couple of glasses of mulled wine each and a Chinese takeaway with lots of sweets and hot chocolate to help us chill out before the mayhem of the next day.

Every family has their own Christmas traditions and this is a new one to us, one we will try and do for as long as possible as at this time of year, spending time with your loved ones is priceless.  ♥

2 New MAC Lipsticks ♥

Maybe I'm a 'bad beauty blogger' but my make up collection isn't made up of a million MAC items. I have one or two things but I've never been one to use them for anything and everything. But, I've always loved watching/reading reviews of their products and have loved the lipsticks especially that i have owned.  So, when i saw a great deal with TopCashBack i had to take advantage and grab two MAC lipsticks to add to my collection.

My view on lipsticks is, you can never have too many reds or too many nudes. So what did i buy? A red and a nude naturally. I went for two shades I've been after for ages in my favourite finish, Matte. The bright red, Lady Danger, is a beautiful bright red/coral shade. I love this one and have been after it for ages. Velvet teddy is a medium nude. Both have brilliant colour pay off, they are so pigmented! The formula itself is lovely - rich, creamy and not drying on my lips at all.

For £16.50, they are not a bad price for a 'high end' lipstick at all. I will keep my eye out for anymore deals on shades I've been lusting after for a while. Also, i got 2 sample size MAC Prep + Prime to try out too as I've heard some really great things about it so i am looking forward to trying those too!

L'Oreal Fine Flowers Gel Wash♥

Well, lets all admit we want 'perfect' skin? I am forever trying to look after my skin. Make it less dry, make it glow and all that jazz. Well, if you read my skincare routine here you'll know i added a new face wash into my routine.

I have really been loving the difference this makes in my skin. It leaves my skin feeling so clean, fresh and soft to touch. I have really sensitive skin and this doesn't aggravate it at all. It has a really light scent - quite flowery. As this is designed to use on dry and sensitive skin, it's perfect for me. It really easily removes any last traces of make up that haven't been removed with cleansing and gets rid of any build up in your pores too.

Favourite Bloggers♥

Something a little different today. i want to shine a spotlight on some of my favourite blogs to read so they can get the recognition they deserve. sometimes the blogging community really can feel isolated but these girls restore my faith in it. So, please give their blogs a read and leave me comments with your favourites too - lets have the most positive blog post of all time.

Sophia Meola - Sophia is such a lovely girl and an amazing blogger. Her posts are always written so i feel like I'm sat in bed with my best friends chatting about anything and everything. She also seems to have perfected the art of the flat lay photo - you go girl. Keep smashing it.

Gemma - Ever since i started blogging and even before, i have read Gemmas blog. Her posts are always informative and always packed with beautiful taken photos. She is one of the kindest people you will ever speak to too so please give her a read for some very in-depth reviews to find your new favourite products.

Tea Party with Alice -  Well, Alice's writing has made me want to emigrate to Australia. She clearly puts a lot of thought into how she writes and you really get a nice varied bunch of posts with her. Imaginative writing and a genuinely nice person? Winner winner.

Amy -  I love her fashion posts - love her style. Also a fellow music lover which is a big thing too. I'm not the biggest reader of fashion blogs (as i have next to no style besides 'black everything') but hers give me serious outfit envy.

Bourjois Ooh La Velvet! Lip Kit Plum Plum Girl ♥

Is it just me who loves a good lip kit? Maybe I'm just a bad beauty blogger but  i love it when a brand puts a lipstick and a lip liner together in a kit for me. Makes it a lot easier for me than searching for hours for a lip liner that is the correct shade. Well, now Autumn/Winter has come in, it's time for the dark vampy shades to come back out which is my personal favourite part of this time of year. What can i say? I like to make a statement.

In the Bourjois Ooh La Velvet! Lip Kit (14 Plum Plum Girl) you get two full sized products: Contour Edition Lip Liner in Plum it up!  and Rouge Edition Velvet Liquid Lipstick in Plum Plum Girl. Bourjois really do make a lovely vampy lipstick. The liner is really soft and smooth. No dragging or pulling and stays really well on your lips. The liquid lipstick is creamy and dries to a matte finish which i like at this time of year. Thankfully, the applicator is not massive so it's very easy to get the perfect shape to your pout without looking like a clown. For me, average wear time is a couple of hours (while drinking and eating) before i want to reapply to make sure the colour is still even. Like all Bourjois products, they have a really light fresh scent to them that's really pleasant.

Want to make a statement with a bold lip without breaking the bank? Have a try of these lip kits!

Maybelline Master Blush Palette ♥

We all know what i'm like, i can't resist a blush. Its probably one of my favourite make up items to buy along with lipstick as there is such a variety and it can really change up a look. I must own a million by now. So, when i was browsing the aisles of Boots a few weeks ago and i saw this little blush palette i couldn't resist popping it into my basket.

The Maybelline Master Blush Color & Highlighting Kit is a really lovely little high street blush palette. It comes with 3 blushes and 1 highlight shade. The 3 shades of blush are lovely and diverse. You have a hot pink, a dark burgundy and a light peach-coral. The highlight is a champagne colour too. The colours are surprisingly pigmented too - they showed up so quickly with very little product which is always a great bonus. Staying power is good - lasting me my full working day without disappearing at all. The packaging is really nice and sturdy too - definitely feels a lot more expensive than it is. I've been loving this and it's a product i can see myself using throughout the year due to the different shades on offer. All in all, a good little palette for a very good price point.

October 2017 Favourites ♥

Is it really November already? This year is flying by, it's going to be Christmas before i know it and i swear it was New Year the other day? Anyway, a start of a new month always means a monthly favourites post from the month before, so keep reading to find out what i have been loving in October.

Its only a short one this time as I've switching up my routines this month adding and trialling new products. For skincare, I've been loving the L'Oreal Fine Flowers Gel Cream Wash as you can really feel the difference after using it. It leaves your face feeling so clean and fresh but doesn't aggravate my sensitive skin at all.  Another skincare favourite for October is the Olay Double action Night Cream which has really saved my skin this month. This really has kept as much moisture in my skin as possible and kept it feeling soft and strong. I've been having trouble with some dry patches around my nose and since adding this into my routine, haven't seen them at all since!

Onto make up, as always i cannot put my Urban Decay Naked3 Palette down. It's just so great for everyday looks as well as going out ones too. I always have this close by so i can grab it on the go. Would not wan to be without this! Last but not least, is the Spectrum Small Fan Brush which is a godsend. This applies highlighter so well. It looks really natural on the skin and subtle. It's also probably the most gorgeous brush i have ever seen and at such an affordable price? Gimme gimme gimme.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer ♥

Lets be honest, i rave about the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation, a lot. I've been using it for years and its easily one of my top three foundations (full review here). I also like to use the matching concealer which i had recently run out of and had to repurchase if you saw my latest haul post.

The Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer is a little bottle of heaven. For me, this concealer/foundation has one of the best formula's. It's light and creamy, and doesn't feel cake at all on my skin. It doesn't cling to my dry patches either which is a big plus in my book. Together, the coverage is medium to full, but easily build able. They also have a good selection of shades for me as I'm quite pale i find some brands (especially on the high street) either make me too orange or too pale. This shade is just right for me. I mostly use this under my eyes to cover my dark circles and around my nose / any problem areas currently. It easily covers redness and dark spots. Bourjois claim these are 'Anti-Fatigue' which I'd say they are to a point. I'd say they definitely give off a healthy glow to the skin but nothing will stop me looking tired except a good nap.

Wear time is good, lasting me my full working day (8am to 6pm) easily without needing to be touched up at all.

If you're looking for a high street concealer, especially for under your eyes i would recommend this one. Whenever someone asks what my favourite product from Bourjois is i always say the Healthy Mix range.

E45 Intense Recovery Body Lotion ♥

Its getting back to that time of year again, when the weather is awful and my skin goes really dry. I try to take good care of my body/skin as I'm prone to really dry skin and eczema which isn't exactly pleasant. So over the years I've found what works for me and what doesn't.

I have always loved E45 creams since i was a kid. Body lotion for me is a must - especially on my arms and my chest where my skin gets the most dry. The E45 Intense Recovery Body Lotion is lovely - it sinks into the skin so quickly leaving my skin feeling nourished, hydrated and not at all greasy. I hate body lotions which take too much time to sink in so the fact this is speedy is a big plus for me. It doesn't really have a smell - which is the only drawback for me as i do love a good scented body lotion. But this has really helped clear up the dry patches i get - especially around elbows/knees/shoulders. I normally apply this in the morning and evening on freshly washed and towelled dry skin. Thankfully, it doesn't break the bank either and is very affordable. i would recommend this to anyone having trouble with their skin being dry this A/W.

Little Boots Haul ♥

Well, i needed to treat myself didn't i? I popped to Boots on a lunch break to grab some last minute stuff for a Halloween part i am going to and couldn't resist a look around the make up aisles. Which meant i couldn't resist picking up one or two or six things...

Spectrum A10 Small Fan Brush - Oh my god, i didn't even realise Boots sold Spectrum brushes - so this made my day. I've been needing a new fan brush for a while now and i've already got a brush or two from this collection so this will look lovely in my brush pot.

NYX Pencil Sharpener - Pretty self-explanatory. I have no idea where mine is so needed a new one of this!

L'Oreal Lip Paint Matte 'Apocalypse Red' - This looked too good to pass up. A girl can never have too many red lipsticks either! I'm excited to try these as i've heard some really good things about them.

Collection Primed & Ready Cool Rose Primer - I've been looking for a new primer for a while now and really like the sound of this. Anything that claims to help stop me looking fatigued is something i have to try.

NYX Lip Lingerie 'Embellishment' - I've seen so many people raving about this shade and it looks perfect for this time of year. Also, super happy NYX is now sold in Boots i did a little happy dance.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer - a little repurchase to go with my healthy mix foundation. Always need more concealer!

Pro:Voke Touch of Silver Brightening Shampoo ♥

I swear lately all I've done is speak about haircare! I've been trying out a lot of new haircare products recently which has resulted in me posting so much about this. I promise i do have non-haircare posts coming up soon...

Well, as a bottle blonde, i need all the help i can get to get rid of the dreaded brassy tones. Yellow/Brass tones are the bane of any dyed blonde's life (slight exaggeration). And we can't re-dye too often or risk ruining our hairs health and end up with no hair at all which wouldn't be ideal for me. So, the answer? Brightening products. Over the years, I've used quite a lot of brightening/purple/silver shampoos to help counteract the look of these tones in my hair. One of my favourites is the Pro:Voke Touch of Silver Brightening Shampoo. It has a lovely scent, like perfume which stays in the hair and gives it a lovely smell that is noticeable. It definitely counteracts yellow/orange tones for me and leaves me with my desired all over colour.

I normally use this once or twice a week in-between bleaching my roots and toners to give it a top up and looking fresh as can be. I always use a normal shampoo and conditioner after too.

L'Oreal Elvive - Full Restore (5) Repairing Shampoo & Conditioner ♥

I know i say it all the time but bleaching my hair all of the time really doesn't do it any good. I've been bleaching my hair all over for at least the last 8 years so I've managed to find out what does and doesn't work for me in that time frame. I've also found a few staples along the way that i could not do without.

For 'everyday' (but not everyday) hair washing my favourite shampoo and conditioners are always the L'Oreal Elvive range. There are so many to choose from depending what you want to achieve - glossy hair, repairing hair and even one especially made for coloured hair. Personally, i need all the repairing i can get. My hair can get very dry and although i minimise the amount of heat i use on it, it's still prone to looking damaged if I'm not careful.

One of my top two of this range are the L'Oreal Elvive Full Restore (5) Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner which are a godsend. The shampoo easily removes any build up of dirt and products in my hair without making it feel dry or stripped. The conditioner leaves my hair feeling very silky and soft and less damaged. I always leave the conditioner on for 5 minutes minimum concentrating on the mid-lengths and ends as this is where the most damage is. It also helps make my hair look shiny without looking greasy which can be a problem with some products designed to make it logo glossy. I would say, if you are someone with damaged hair whether it be heat damaged or colour damaged, add this into your haircare routine and you should see a difference pretty quickly with the overall quality of your hair!

Falling for Fall Tag ♥

Ohhh it's that time of year again. I love summer but there is something about Autumn i love. I love Halloween and the darker colours available in all the shops too so when i was tagged by the lovely TheSpicyBean  knew i had to do this tag.

What is your favourite Fall scent?
I'm a big fan of Yankee candles and any excuse to get new ones is fine by me. I love the pumpkin ones but also anything cinnamon. It always makes me feel very Autumnal and cosy. But my all time favourite for this time of year is the Yankee Candle in Fireside treats which smells like roasting marshmallows over a fire. Heaven.

Do you prefer Apple stuff or Pumpkin stuff?
Food, apple. I'm not the biggest fan of apple flavour items but i don't like the taste of pumpkin at all. The idea of a pumpkin spice latte makes me feel kinda ill. Thankfully, i like the smell of it.

What is the one thing that you look forward to every single Fall?
HALLOWEEN. Its my favourite holiday - much higher than Christmas. who doesn't love dressing up or watching scary movies? Besides that, i love Autumn fashions as i love lots of layers and comfy over sized jumpers.

How do you like to spend the more chilly/cloudy days in the Fall?
Either in my bed in my fluffy pyjamas or having a walk with all the pretty colours of the leaves depending on the weather.

Which do you prefer - Halloween or Thanksgiving?
Obviously Halloween as we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK.

What is one thing you do to embrace the Fall season?
I get all my bobble hats and scarves out ready for the change in weather. I just love being comfy!

What photos would you like to get this Fall season?
I want to carve a really cool pumpkin this year as i didn't get to take a photo last year. Also, I'm going to a Halloween party so a nice photo of my costume would be good too!

Favourite childhood memory from this season?
Trick or Treating. Or a sleepover when i was younger where we watched scary movies then were too scared to walk to the toilet next door without my friend for fear that a machete wielding, hockey mask wearing lunatic would be there waiting in the hallway.

What is your favourite trend (fashion/make up/etc) so far this season?
i love over sized jumpers and boots - i wear this all the time this time of year. especially for work! But also, burgundy nails with matching lips is a big one too for me!

Describe what the Fall Weather really looks like where you live?
Wet. Windy. Cool. Standard British weather really. Mostly you end up with leaves pelting themselves at you and your hair stuck in your lipstick all the time.

My Guide to Relationships ♥

Well, i thought i'd write a different kind of post today. I will try and stop this from getting out of hand and really long but it's a tricky subject. Relationships. A bit of background, myself and my fiancé have been together for just over 6 years now. In that time, we've created so many memories. But, i want to speak out about them all as it seems the new 'IN' trend is to sugarcoat your life on social media and act as if everything is perfect. It isn't. So here are my tips that i try to live by to make the most of my relationship.

This is something i have always struggled with. I am forever forgetting to say please and thank you, but it's such a simple thing! Speaking nicely to them is a massive thing and it shows respect to them. Also, making sure they know how loved they are is a pretty big thing too.

I am a big believer in personal space. especially when you live together. They are always there but sometimes after a crappy day or just for 30 minutes every so often, you want some time to yourself all alone to collect your thoughts and relax. This is normal and we have always had our own space.

Being Best Friends
I'm a big believer in that your partner should be your best friend. Moving into my first place with my other half was amazing, it's like having a 24/7 sleepover with your favourite person. If you can't have a laugh or have fun together without it being all about 'couple goals' it won't feel right.

We all have our own preferences when it comes to partners, some like a chiseled body and others like a good cook. Me? A great sense of humour. Thankfully, my other half is ridiculously funny (whether he means to be or not). Laughter can cure a lot of things especially a bad mood.

Don't go to bed angry
This is a cliche but it's so true. You don't know what can happen and going to bed angry won't solve anything, speak about things and resolve them rather than hoping it will all go away or they will apologise. It won't solve anything in the long run and its very lonely.

These are just my experiences and what i have learnt over the last 6 years.

Bleached Hair - How to erase Damage? ♥

I've been dying my hair for over 10 years now, have been blonde for over 4years and was brilliant red before that. So i have quite a lot of experience with attempting the keep damaged hair at bay. Damaged hair is the bane of everyone who dyes their hair, it's dry and brittle and just genuinely feels awful to touch.

I bleach roughly every 4-6 weeks and do a toner every 3/4 weeks to keep my hair the right shade of blonde. This much bleach and product is not particularly good for my naturally brunette hair so i've developed a little system to help when i'm at home

For me, conditioner is a must. But once or twice a week i have a bit more of an 'intensive' conditioning treatment. This doesn't have to cost a lot, my favourite is to use the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle and leave on for at least 1 hour before washing off. This always leaves my hair feeling silky smooth and soft to touch. Another big product for me, is heat protection. I rarely blow-dry my hair but i do straighten it so i make sure i always apply a fair amount to make sure my hair doesn't get fried and more damaged. I'm currently using the Toni & Guy Heat Protection Spray which i'm enjoying. I've also recently added some new items into my routine. I added the L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil and the Charles Worthington Strength & Repair Split ends Binder which i apply to my hair while damp. These leave the ends feeling silky and nourished without weighing my hair down and making it feel full of product.

L'Oreal Colorista Spray - Grey Hair ♥

I won't lie, i don't think i have fully left my emo/scene phase. I'd like to be transported back to 2007 please. Besides that, I'm still the same person just with much more responsibilities and a lot less fun. One thing that hasn't changed, is my obsessive need to change my hair colour.

I've been dying my hair for over ten years now and I've lost count of the amount of times I've changed my hair colour. Pink, red, black, blonde, black AND red, blue and god knows what else. It's been a ride for my hair that's for sure. Colours come and go with the trends and the most recent one I've seen is grey. Everyone is rocking the granny chic. So, i thought I'd try it out. Temporarily though just in case i hated it. luckily, while browsing Boots i saw the L'Oreal Colorista Spray 1-day colour #greyhair which is very strange product.

I found the colour to be quite pigmented, but as my hair is light blonde currently i do not know how much of this colour would show up on darker colours. The application is very, very easy - the nozzle means you can be really precise and not end up spraying yourself in the eye. The biggest problem i had with this, was the feeling and texture of my hair after. It left my hair feeling dry which is not what i want as i am obsessive over the condition of my hair and religiously use masks and oils to help with this. Also, despite there not being much colour transfer if any, the glitter in the spray does transfer and every time i touched my hair all day i ended up with sparkly hands (eat your heart out, Edward Cullen).

All in all, not a bad product to give you an idea of how a colour will look before you take the plunge and find a more permanent solution. They have so many colours available in this range - I've got my eye on the blue!

Favourite Make Up Brushes ♥

Make up brushes and me have a love/hate relationship. I love buying them but i hate cleaning them. I've recently written about a new tool i use to help clean them, which you can read here. But writing that post gave me inspiration and made me go through my collection to see what brushes i reach for over and over again.

One of my all time favourites is the Real Techniques Bold Metal Contour Brush which is absolutely gorgeous. It's rose gold with a really stylish feel. It also works amazingly with powder and liquid contouring products which is why it's my most reached for whenever i'm adding contour to my look. To go with my contour, there has to be highlighting. My favourite to apply this is the EyesLipsFace Angled Blush Brush which is such great value for money. I love ELF brushes and this one is only £5! It's the most perfect shape and size to apply highlighter to your cheek bones especially. It also works well with liquid and powder and is very easy to clean. For applying foundation, i'm a kabuki person. I've never really got on well with the standard 'pointed' foundation brushes but this Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki really evenly applies my foundation and blends really well. The brushes are really soft meaning it easily goes all over my face. It really makes me feel like my skin looks as flawless as can be without any visible lines at all.

For eye brushes, i'm a big fan of the Spectrum C06 Brush which is perfect for if you're having a lazier day and just want a flash of colour across the lids or for creating elaborate looks too. It blends really well and is so soft to touch. The EyesLipsFace Eyeshadow Brush & Blending Brush are two more great value for money buys. Only £2 each these do not break the bank but work very well without feeling cheap at all.

Palette Heaven ♥

Eyeshadow palettes are literally the most #bbloggers item ever, in my opinion. Remember the hype each time a new Naked palette is announced? Well, I've built up quite a little collection of palettes and some of them are better than others and i end up reaching for them time and time again.

One of my all time favourites is the theBalm Balm Jovi Palette which i reviewed in full here. It's beyond beautiful - i love a good pun and rock & roll is my life so mixing the two together with make up is kind of my own personal slice of heaven. Even better for me, the quality is amazing. theBalm is one of my favourites brands as their products (especially palettes) are so clever and different, I'm so glad they've become easier to buy here in the UK now.

Another one is the Urban Decay Naked2 Basics and i can almost hear the collective intake of breath - why not the Naked or Naked2?! Well, i love all of my Naked palettes but this tiny little palette is perfect for travelling which is why it just edges out the others for this. It's my go-to when travelling whether its one night or two weeks. You can create so many looks from very subtle to very bold very easily.

Last but not least, is my MAC Eyeshadow Palette 'Cool Neutral' which is the only MAC palette i have ever owned. I was never that 'into' MAC like others seemed to be but I've always loved their shadows. This little beauty comes with so many colours, finishes and shades to choose from that i cannot guess how many different looks could be achieved with this palette.

Full Coverage Make Up ♥

Sometimes, especially on events, i really want full coverage make up. Especially if i am breaking out or not feeling too confident it's always a good boost. I have my go-to products just for full coverage looks.

I always use a primer if i'm wanting full coverage and my current go-to is Benefit The PoreFessional Primer which gives a lovely soft, even base. The perfect canvas for applying make up. My favourite high end 'full coverage' foundation is the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation which is one of my favourite foundations ever. Whenever i run out of this, i always rush out to replace it. Its so easy to use and blends so quickly. The colour is also so good as they have so many shades on offer - finally one that has shades light enough for my skin tone. For concealer, especially on my dark under eyes i love the Maybelline The Eraser Eye Concealer which really hides my under eye circles without ever looking cakey.

Evening Skincare Routine ♥

Is there anything better than coming home from work and removing all of your make up (and bra)? I've been taking extra care this year with my skin to make sure it's healthier and drinking extra water to help and I've definitely seen the improvements on my skin. I've recently added some new products into my skincare routine and have been loving the effect on my skin.

First up, i remove my make up. I use the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water which is my favourite Micellar water I've tried. This easily breaks down all of the make up, even stubborn waterproof mascara. I apply this to a cotton pad - normally i use two to remove all that i can see. if i want to double cleanse, I've been using the Garnier Skin Active Soothing Botanical Cleansing Milk which is really soothing on dry/sensitive skin. It feels very cool on your skin and removes impurities and any build up in my pores.

To wash my face, I've been trying the L'Oreal Fine Flowers Gel-Cream Wash as this is designed for dry and sensitive skin, it doesn't dry out my face at all. It lathers really well and gets all the last traces of any make up off too. Leaving my face feeling very soft, clean and ready. I always exfoliate, as i have quite dry skin and I'm paranoid about flakey skin. I have been using the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub for years. It smells amazing and you can really feel the difference in your skin after using it. I always concrete on the area around my nose where i have the driest skin. Last but not least,  night cream. I am in love with the Olay Double Action Night Cream which absorbs into my skin almost instantly leaving my skin feeling soft, hydrated and clean.

Since I've started using this routine, I've noticed less dry skin and I'm less prone to breakouts which has made me feel really good and I'm happy enough to go out without make up on it's left me that confident with my own skin.

Top Two Highlighters ♥

I love highlighters, I have quite a few in my collection but the two i find myself reaching for the most are these two little beauties.  Who doesn't want to glow like the majestic unicorn they are inside?

I have two favourite highlighters, one high street and one high end. My favourite high street highlighter is the MUA Undress Your Skin. This is a beautiful luminescent highlighter that really brings the wow-factor. It's great for everyday if applied with a light hand or you can easily use this in a bit more of a bold highlight too. It lasts well on the skin and really helps bring out those areas like your cheekbones.

For high end, my absolute go-to is the Too Faced Candlelight Glow Highlighter which is the most gorgeous iridescent colour - you have two sides, white or pink or you can mix them together to have a mix of both which is what i use most of the time. It stays on for absolutely ages and really makes your make up pop and it looks so natural. Seriously, i cannot rave about this enough.

September Favourites ♥

Is it really October already? I can't believe it's already Autumn - this year has been flying by way too quick. I'm so excited to be writing this post as when i was first blogging, monthly favourites were one of my favourite blogposts to read/write. I've filled this month with a lot of new months to be tried and it's fair to say, i have fallen a little bit in love with some of them.

Vaseline Spray & Go Body Moisturiser Cocoa Radiant is my current go-to for everyday body moisturiser. It's so quick and easy, with no time spent waiting for the product to absorb into my skin. My legs always feel silky soft whenever i use this and i've really noticed a difference. And of course, it smells amazing. I've also been loving the Maybelline Falsies Push Up Angel Mascara which has a really unusual applicator brush - i normally go for a different style but i've been really enjoying using this. I find this really separates and coats each lash making them much longer without looking clumpy or spidery at all. I've also introduced a new night cream into my evening skincare routine which is the Olay Double Action Night Cream Normal/Dry. This instantly makes my skin feel so smooth and soft to touch. It's thick but instantly absorbs into my skin and feels so refreshing. I have definitely noticed my skin looking a lot better since introducing this little pot of magic. Last but not least, i've also been loving the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moisture Conditioner which has been one of my favourites for years. It's great to use whenever you wash your hair or as a treatment if you leave it on for longer. It can make even my dyed, dry hair feel really soft and sleek.

Losing Weight with FitBit ♥

A bit of a different one today, today i'm talking about weight loss. I've gained a fair amount of weight the last few years and i've not been comfortable with myself for some time now. I've been using FitBit for about 2 years now and i've really loved having it. This fitness tracker that you wear on your wrist measures everything from sleeping patterns to steps taken to my heart rate. It's really made me understand my body a lot better when it comes to weight loss.

so, why Fitbit? Well, they come with the traditional 10,000 steps goal. 10,000 steps works out roughly around 5miles per day. Depending on your lifestyle this might be something you do everyday or something you need to work on. Its the little things that make a lot of difference, like taking the stairs rather than using the elevator at work. Walking to the shops rather than a 5 minute car ride. It's nothing too drastic. Now for the science bit, 10,000 steps a day works out at around 2000 - 3500 calories burnt extra per week. 1 lb of fat = 3500 calories, so theoretically you can lose 1lb per week without doing anything strenuous. which is definitely a plus. when i first started using Fitbit, i didn't go to the gym but through the walks I've been doing the last few years, i have built my cardiovascular health and find the gym a lot easier. Its such a small thing but makes such a massive difference in how i live my life.

it also lets you track all physical activity so you can see more clearly at the gym what you are burning off which is always a plus!
