Current Skincare favourites ♥

I've been trying to actively lose weight since January and i have noticed my skin get a lot better due to eating healthier and upping my daily water intake. I now consume at least 2 1/2 litres of water per day minimum. Because of this, i've streamlined my skincare routine recently and have come to appreciate some of my products extra.

I've been raving about the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask for over 4 years. Its been a staple product for me this whole time and i always make sure i have this in my house just in case. I normally use this once or twice a week for a little TLC for my skin especially if i've been having a bad skin week or been at the gym a lot. It always makes my skin feel so hydrated and soft - as well as making my skin smell amazingly fruity. i literally cannot sing the praises of this anywhere near enough.

For make up removal, i love micellar waters and currently i've been using the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. I'm currently using up a travel size as i took this with me on holiday to LA and didn't get the chance to finish while i was away. I love this as it easily dissolves any make up on my face without smearing harsh chemicals all over my face or drying my skin out at all. Last but not least, i've been trying a new daily moisturiser the Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser which i have been really enjoying. Like the name suggests, it's very light so i always use this in the mornings before i apply my make up. It sinks into the skin so fast and leaves me a soft and supple base to apply my make up too.

First Impressions: Rimmel Insta Duo Contour Stick ♥

When i look back now to when i first started getting into make up. I was about 15/16 but contouring was not a big thing when i was young but then again, the selfie wasn't a big thing it was all about the good old fashioned Myspace photo when i was a teenager. The only make up that mattered in those photos is the 100 layers of black kohl you caked your eyes with.

Over the years though, make up has evolved so much. The young generation don't seem to have gone through the orange dream matte mouse foundation and concealer lips phase (which is very unfair, if i had to look stupid so does everyone else). One of the techniques which is used all of the time now is the contour and highlight. I will admit, i love it. Its now something i do every time i put make up on.

Brands are forever bringing out new contouring products and i decided to give my routine a shake up recently while having a browse through Boots. I have been very faithful recently to my make up bag and have ended up reaching for the same stale products most days so when i saw the Rimmel Insta Duo Controur Stick (Light/Clair) i decided to give it a go.

I've so far only used this a few times and i haven't been that impressed with it so far. The formula is great - very creamy and easy to blend. The pigmentation on the contour end is great, it doesn't take much product to show up but i was very disappointed with the colour pay off on the highlight end which can barely be seen on my skin at all. If you're looking for a very subtle highlight, this would be perfect but i do like more of a bold look as i'm not a subtle person at all.

Overall, i'd give this a 6/10 as the highlight has let this down.

So... ♥

Well, this is awkward.

December 2015 is when i wrote my last post on here giving an update as to why i hadn't been posting in over 6 months. It was hard for me to step away from blogging but a necessity due to circumstances in my personal life at the time. After that, i found it very hard to get back into the swing of things and had lost a lot of my confidence in regards to blogging.

I missed the chats on a Tuesday and Sunday evening, i missed being part of a community but what i missed most of all is having my own little corner of the internet to call my own and ramble on about whatever i wanted. After over a year of worrying and arguing with myself, i have now finally plucked up the courage to come back and start again.

So, a little update is definitely needed. Since we last spoke, i went on my dream holiday back to Los Angeles with my ever patient boyfriend who decided (after 6 years) he did actually like me enough to put a ring on it. I'm on a journey to become a fitter and more confident me - which is definitely a factor in me coming back into the blogging fray.

I have made a promise to myself to keep using this as i missed it too much to even explain.

so once again, hi there and welcome back♥
