L'Oreal Elvive - Full Restore (5) Repairing Shampoo & Conditioner ♥

I know i say it all the time but bleaching my hair all of the time really doesn't do it any good. I've been bleaching my hair all over for at least the last 8 years so I've managed to find out what does and doesn't work for me in that time frame. I've also found a few staples along the way that i could not do without.

For 'everyday' (but not everyday) hair washing my favourite shampoo and conditioners are always the L'Oreal Elvive range. There are so many to choose from depending what you want to achieve - glossy hair, repairing hair and even one especially made for coloured hair. Personally, i need all the repairing i can get. My hair can get very dry and although i minimise the amount of heat i use on it, it's still prone to looking damaged if I'm not careful.

One of my top two of this range are the L'Oreal Elvive Full Restore (5) Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner which are a godsend. The shampoo easily removes any build up of dirt and products in my hair without making it feel dry or stripped. The conditioner leaves my hair feeling very silky and soft and less damaged. I always leave the conditioner on for 5 minutes minimum concentrating on the mid-lengths and ends as this is where the most damage is. It also helps make my hair look shiny without looking greasy which can be a problem with some products designed to make it logo glossy. I would say, if you are someone with damaged hair whether it be heat damaged or colour damaged, add this into your haircare routine and you should see a difference pretty quickly with the overall quality of your hair!

Falling for Fall Tag ♥

Ohhh it's that time of year again. I love summer but there is something about Autumn i love. I love Halloween and the darker colours available in all the shops too so when i was tagged by the lovely TheSpicyBean  knew i had to do this tag.

What is your favourite Fall scent?
I'm a big fan of Yankee candles and any excuse to get new ones is fine by me. I love the pumpkin ones but also anything cinnamon. It always makes me feel very Autumnal and cosy. But my all time favourite for this time of year is the Yankee Candle in Fireside treats which smells like roasting marshmallows over a fire. Heaven.

Do you prefer Apple stuff or Pumpkin stuff?
Food, apple. I'm not the biggest fan of apple flavour items but i don't like the taste of pumpkin at all. The idea of a pumpkin spice latte makes me feel kinda ill. Thankfully, i like the smell of it.

What is the one thing that you look forward to every single Fall?
HALLOWEEN. Its my favourite holiday - much higher than Christmas. who doesn't love dressing up or watching scary movies? Besides that, i love Autumn fashions as i love lots of layers and comfy over sized jumpers.

How do you like to spend the more chilly/cloudy days in the Fall?
Either in my bed in my fluffy pyjamas or having a walk with all the pretty colours of the leaves depending on the weather.

Which do you prefer - Halloween or Thanksgiving?
Obviously Halloween as we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK.

What is one thing you do to embrace the Fall season?
I get all my bobble hats and scarves out ready for the change in weather. I just love being comfy!

What photos would you like to get this Fall season?
I want to carve a really cool pumpkin this year as i didn't get to take a photo last year. Also, I'm going to a Halloween party so a nice photo of my costume would be good too!

Favourite childhood memory from this season?
Trick or Treating. Or a sleepover when i was younger where we watched scary movies then were too scared to walk to the toilet next door without my friend for fear that a machete wielding, hockey mask wearing lunatic would be there waiting in the hallway.

What is your favourite trend (fashion/make up/etc) so far this season?
i love over sized jumpers and boots - i wear this all the time this time of year. especially for work! But also, burgundy nails with matching lips is a big one too for me!

Describe what the Fall Weather really looks like where you live?
Wet. Windy. Cool. Standard British weather really. Mostly you end up with leaves pelting themselves at you and your hair stuck in your lipstick all the time.

My Guide to Relationships ♥

Well, i thought i'd write a different kind of post today. I will try and stop this from getting out of hand and really long but it's a tricky subject. Relationships. A bit of background, myself and my fiancé have been together for just over 6 years now. In that time, we've created so many memories. But, i want to speak out about them all as it seems the new 'IN' trend is to sugarcoat your life on social media and act as if everything is perfect. It isn't. So here are my tips that i try to live by to make the most of my relationship.

Appreciation
This is something i have always struggled with. I am forever forgetting to say please and thank you, but it's such a simple thing! Speaking nicely to them is a massive thing and it shows respect to them. Also, making sure they know how loved they are is a pretty big thing too.

Space
I am a big believer in personal space. especially when you live together. They are always there but sometimes after a crappy day or just for 30 minutes every so often, you want some time to yourself all alone to collect your thoughts and relax. This is normal and we have always had our own space.

Being Best Friends
I'm a big believer in that your partner should be your best friend. Moving into my first place with my other half was amazing, it's like having a 24/7 sleepover with your favourite person. If you can't have a laugh or have fun together without it being all about 'couple goals' it won't feel right.

Laughter
We all have our own preferences when it comes to partners, some like a chiseled body and others like a good cook. Me? A great sense of humour. Thankfully, my other half is ridiculously funny (whether he means to be or not). Laughter can cure a lot of things especially a bad mood.

Don't go to bed angry
This is a cliche but it's so true. You don't know what can happen and going to bed angry won't solve anything, speak about things and resolve them rather than hoping it will all go away or they will apologise. It won't solve anything in the long run and its very lonely.

These are just my experiences and what i have learnt over the last 6 years.

Bleached Hair - How to erase Damage? ♥

I've been dying my hair for over 10 years now, have been blonde for over 4years and was brilliant red before that. So i have quite a lot of experience with attempting the keep damaged hair at bay. Damaged hair is the bane of everyone who dyes their hair, it's dry and brittle and just genuinely feels awful to touch.

I bleach roughly every 4-6 weeks and do a toner every 3/4 weeks to keep my hair the right shade of blonde. This much bleach and product is not particularly good for my naturally brunette hair so i've developed a little system to help when i'm at home

For me, conditioner is a must. But once or twice a week i have a bit more of an 'intensive' conditioning treatment. This doesn't have to cost a lot, my favourite is to use the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle and leave on for at least 1 hour before washing off. This always leaves my hair feeling silky smooth and soft to touch. Another big product for me, is heat protection. I rarely blow-dry my hair but i do straighten it so i make sure i always apply a fair amount to make sure my hair doesn't get fried and more damaged. I'm currently using the Toni & Guy Heat Protection Spray which i'm enjoying. I've also recently added some new items into my routine. I added the L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil and the Charles Worthington Strength & Repair Split ends Binder which i apply to my hair while damp. These leave the ends feeling silky and nourished without weighing my hair down and making it feel full of product.

L'Oreal Colorista Spray - Grey Hair ♥

I won't lie, i don't think i have fully left my emo/scene phase. I'd like to be transported back to 2007 please. Besides that, I'm still the same person just with much more responsibilities and a lot less fun. One thing that hasn't changed, is my obsessive need to change my hair colour.

I've been dying my hair for over ten years now and I've lost count of the amount of times I've changed my hair colour. Pink, red, black, blonde, black AND red, blue and god knows what else. It's been a ride for my hair that's for sure. Colours come and go with the trends and the most recent one I've seen is grey. Everyone is rocking the granny chic. So, i thought I'd try it out. Temporarily though just in case i hated it. luckily, while browsing Boots i saw the L'Oreal Colorista Spray 1-day colour #greyhair which is very strange product.

I found the colour to be quite pigmented, but as my hair is light blonde currently i do not know how much of this colour would show up on darker colours. The application is very, very easy - the nozzle means you can be really precise and not end up spraying yourself in the eye. The biggest problem i had with this, was the feeling and texture of my hair after. It left my hair feeling dry which is not what i want as i am obsessive over the condition of my hair and religiously use masks and oils to help with this. Also, despite there not being much colour transfer if any, the glitter in the spray does transfer and every time i touched my hair all day i ended up with sparkly hands (eat your heart out, Edward Cullen).

All in all, not a bad product to give you an idea of how a colour will look before you take the plunge and find a more permanent solution. They have so many colours available in this range - I've got my eye on the blue!

Favourite Make Up Brushes ♥

Make up brushes and me have a love/hate relationship. I love buying them but i hate cleaning them. I've recently written about a new tool i use to help clean them, which you can read here. But writing that post gave me inspiration and made me go through my collection to see what brushes i reach for over and over again.

One of my all time favourites is the Real Techniques Bold Metal Contour Brush which is absolutely gorgeous. It's rose gold with a really stylish feel. It also works amazingly with powder and liquid contouring products which is why it's my most reached for whenever i'm adding contour to my look. To go with my contour, there has to be highlighting. My favourite to apply this is the EyesLipsFace Angled Blush Brush which is such great value for money. I love ELF brushes and this one is only £5! It's the most perfect shape and size to apply highlighter to your cheek bones especially. It also works well with liquid and powder and is very easy to clean. For applying foundation, i'm a kabuki person. I've never really got on well with the standard 'pointed' foundation brushes but this Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki really evenly applies my foundation and blends really well. The brushes are really soft meaning it easily goes all over my face. It really makes me feel like my skin looks as flawless as can be without any visible lines at all.

For eye brushes, i'm a big fan of the Spectrum C06 Brush which is perfect for if you're having a lazier day and just want a flash of colour across the lids or for creating elaborate looks too. It blends really well and is so soft to touch. The EyesLipsFace Eyeshadow Brush & Blending Brush are two more great value for money buys. Only £2 each these do not break the bank but work very well without feeling cheap at all.

Palette Heaven ♥

Eyeshadow palettes are literally the most #bbloggers item ever, in my opinion. Remember the hype each time a new Naked palette is announced? Well, I've built up quite a little collection of palettes and some of them are better than others and i end up reaching for them time and time again.

One of my all time favourites is the theBalm Balm Jovi Palette which i reviewed in full here. It's beyond beautiful - i love a good pun and rock & roll is my life so mixing the two together with make up is kind of my own personal slice of heaven. Even better for me, the quality is amazing. theBalm is one of my favourites brands as their products (especially palettes) are so clever and different, I'm so glad they've become easier to buy here in the UK now.

Another one is the Urban Decay Naked2 Basics and i can almost hear the collective intake of breath - why not the Naked or Naked2?! Well, i love all of my Naked palettes but this tiny little palette is perfect for travelling which is why it just edges out the others for this. It's my go-to when travelling whether its one night or two weeks. You can create so many looks from very subtle to very bold very easily.

Last but not least, is my MAC Eyeshadow Palette 'Cool Neutral' which is the only MAC palette i have ever owned. I was never that 'into' MAC like others seemed to be but I've always loved their shadows. This little beauty comes with so many colours, finishes and shades to choose from that i cannot guess how many different looks could be achieved with this palette.

Full Coverage Make Up ♥

Sometimes, especially on events, i really want full coverage make up. Especially if i am breaking out or not feeling too confident it's always a good boost. I have my go-to products just for full coverage looks.

I always use a primer if i'm wanting full coverage and my current go-to is Benefit The PoreFessional Primer which gives a lovely soft, even base. The perfect canvas for applying make up. My favourite high end 'full coverage' foundation is the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation which is one of my favourite foundations ever. Whenever i run out of this, i always rush out to replace it. Its so easy to use and blends so quickly. The colour is also so good as they have so many shades on offer - finally one that has shades light enough for my skin tone. For concealer, especially on my dark under eyes i love the Maybelline The Eraser Eye Concealer which really hides my under eye circles without ever looking cakey.

Evening Skincare Routine ♥

Is there anything better than coming home from work and removing all of your make up (and bra)? I've been taking extra care this year with my skin to make sure it's healthier and drinking extra water to help and I've definitely seen the improvements on my skin. I've recently added some new products into my skincare routine and have been loving the effect on my skin.

First up, i remove my make up. I use the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water which is my favourite Micellar water I've tried. This easily breaks down all of the make up, even stubborn waterproof mascara. I apply this to a cotton pad - normally i use two to remove all that i can see. if i want to double cleanse, I've been using the Garnier Skin Active Soothing Botanical Cleansing Milk which is really soothing on dry/sensitive skin. It feels very cool on your skin and removes impurities and any build up in my pores.

To wash my face, I've been trying the L'Oreal Fine Flowers Gel-Cream Wash as this is designed for dry and sensitive skin, it doesn't dry out my face at all. It lathers really well and gets all the last traces of any make up off too. Leaving my face feeling very soft, clean and ready. I always exfoliate, as i have quite dry skin and I'm paranoid about flakey skin. I have been using the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub for years. It smells amazing and you can really feel the difference in your skin after using it. I always concrete on the area around my nose where i have the driest skin. Last but not least,  night cream. I am in love with the Olay Double Action Night Cream which absorbs into my skin almost instantly leaving my skin feeling soft, hydrated and clean.

Since I've started using this routine, I've noticed less dry skin and I'm less prone to breakouts which has made me feel really good and I'm happy enough to go out without make up on it's left me that confident with my own skin.

Top Two Highlighters ♥

I love highlighters, I have quite a few in my collection but the two i find myself reaching for the most are these two little beauties.  Who doesn't want to glow like the majestic unicorn they are inside?

I have two favourite highlighters, one high street and one high end. My favourite high street highlighter is the MUA Undress Your Skin. This is a beautiful luminescent highlighter that really brings the wow-factor. It's great for everyday if applied with a light hand or you can easily use this in a bit more of a bold highlight too. It lasts well on the skin and really helps bring out those areas like your cheekbones.

For high end, my absolute go-to is the Too Faced Candlelight Glow Highlighter which is the most gorgeous iridescent colour - you have two sides, white or pink or you can mix them together to have a mix of both which is what i use most of the time. It stays on for absolutely ages and really makes your make up pop and it looks so natural. Seriously, i cannot rave about this enough.

September Favourites ♥

Is it really October already? I can't believe it's already Autumn - this year has been flying by way too quick. I'm so excited to be writing this post as when i was first blogging, monthly favourites were one of my favourite blogposts to read/write. I've filled this month with a lot of new months to be tried and it's fair to say, i have fallen a little bit in love with some of them.

Vaseline Spray & Go Body Moisturiser Cocoa Radiant is my current go-to for everyday body moisturiser. It's so quick and easy, with no time spent waiting for the product to absorb into my skin. My legs always feel silky soft whenever i use this and i've really noticed a difference. And of course, it smells amazing. I've also been loving the Maybelline Falsies Push Up Angel Mascara which has a really unusual applicator brush - i normally go for a different style but i've been really enjoying using this. I find this really separates and coats each lash making them much longer without looking clumpy or spidery at all. I've also introduced a new night cream into my evening skincare routine which is the Olay Double Action Night Cream Normal/Dry. This instantly makes my skin feel so smooth and soft to touch. It's thick but instantly absorbs into my skin and feels so refreshing. I have definitely noticed my skin looking a lot better since introducing this little pot of magic. Last but not least, i've also been loving the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moisture Conditioner which has been one of my favourites for years. It's great to use whenever you wash your hair or as a treatment if you leave it on for longer. It can make even my dyed, dry hair feel really soft and sleek.
