March 2018 Beauty Favourites ♥

So, it turned into April very quick. I've had a hectic month - travelling, skiing and dealing with our busiest period at work. It's flown by and i haven't had 5 minutes to myself let alone time to write a post. This year, I've made it my resolution to update here often and not let it fall aside like i did a few years ago as it's something i genuinely enjoy doing.

My first favourite for March is the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser which i have loved for years. It's always made my skin look and feel flawless. It doesn't aggravate my sensitive skin and lasts for absolutely ages too. The only other skincare item I've included is the Nivea Double Effect Eye Make-up Remover which I've been trying out for a couple of months now. It's really good for stubborn eyeliner and mascara whereas I'd have to double or even triple cleanse to get rid of all the residue, now it all comes off first time perfectly.

The Barry M Nail Paint in Bespoke is like my perfect go-to nail colour. It's quite natural so it goes with most looks but looks really lovely on especially with a tan. I've also fallen in love with the Make Up Revolution Strobe Highlighter in Radiant Lights which is a gorgeous highlight. It has a really decent amount of shimmer and can look very natural & subtle on. Last but not least, I've been loving the Rimmel Soft Kohl in 07 Pure White which I've been using on my lower lash line to really make my eyes pop. It always makes me look more awake and make my eyes look gigantic.

High End Products Worth the Splurge ♥

Me, I'm a more budget friendly person. I still love my high end but i don't have an unlimited budget unfortunately so the majority of my collection is high street brands. But you do find certain brands and specific products are really worth the splurge when it comes down to it.

One of my absolute favourite high end brands out there is theBalm Cosmetics. Their products are always so pretty - the packaging is beautiful and themed. My personal favourite products of theirs are their eye shadows palettes - which are swoon worthy. My most reached for is the theBalm Nude'tude Palette. The formula is really lovely and you get some different shades to other nude palettes out there. Another great high end buy is the MAC Lipsticks which are some of the more purse friendly offerings from high end brands. There are so many shades and finishes to choose from you are bound to find something to fall in love with.

Urban Decay is a brand all beauty lovers are aware of and as much as i love their palettes, i am obsessed with their Urban Decay Primer Potion. I've not yet found another eyeshadow primer that works as well for me as this one at keeping my looks from budging or creasing yet. Thankfully, this lasts me a while so it's definitely worth the money for me! Skincare is another area where i change brands often but one item i always repurchase as soon as i get anywhere close to finishing is the Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask. It has the most delicious smell and really keeps my skin hydrated without making it oily at all.

Last but not least, I've always loved the Benefit Boxed Blushes and specifically i love Bella Bamba and Rockateur the most. They are again not the most expensive high end items out there and the cute packaging makes it even better.

Top 5 Nude Lip Products ♥

I will admit it right now, i love a good nude lippy. As much as i love a bold statement lip, sometimes there is something great about finding that nude lip colour you love, the your lips but better colour. I'm not one for subtlety in life but when it comes to nude lips, I'm very much loving it especially for daytime wear.

My tastes aren't strictly high end (my purse thanks me) or high street so i like to shop around to find the formula's and shades that work best for me and my skin. My first pick is the beautiful Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Lipstick in Chauffeur which is an absolute steal at only £3. I can't say how much i love this lipstick but the fact it is always in my handbag probably says it all for me. Another purse friendly option is the MUA Luxe Lip Lacquer in Tranquillity which also retails at £3. It lasts pretty well and the colour is a slightly peachy toned nude which is lovely to wear especially around springtime.

Last for my high street picks, is the Makeup Revolution Intense Lip Lacquer in More Than I Could Give (starting to notice i am a little obsessed with lip lacquers now...) also at £3. Its a very light colour and i usually wear this most around winter for a really natural lip look but normally paired with a very bold eye look. It's not drying this formula so i don't have to worry about my lips getting dry. For my High end item, its got to be the MAC Lipstick in Velvet Teddy (£17.50). It's such a beautiful shade and I've seen so many people wear this and haven't met a single person who this shade doesn't flatter yet.

When it comes to lipsticks, I've only recently started buying more lip liners to help my lipstick last longer and have it more precisely applied. One of my all time favourites is the Barry M Lip Liner in Pose which comes in one of their Matte Liquid lip kits, is beautiful. It applies so creamy and really helps improve the wear time of whatever i pair it with.

January 2018 Beauty Favourites ♥

Well, January felt like it was never ending but we are now into February and every day takes us closer to Spring with its slightly warmer weather. Totally not counting the days or anything. But January was a long hectic month dealing with the aftermath of Christmas and back to work. But despite not trying many new products, i definitely had some favourites i couldn't stop myself reaching for.

Make Up Revolution Luxury Powder in Banana is a new favourite. I bought this a while ago to try out the whole 'baking' trend which while I'm still getting used to I've really enjoyed using this as the colour really helps disguise my dark circles and give my skin a much needed healthy glow under my eyes to help deflect away from any problem areas. My ultimate go-to nail polish is the beautiful Barry M Nail Paint in Bespoke which is a really lovely soft pink. Very subtle and pretty and so, so cheap! If i want something that will work with most outfits i wear, its this. It also looks great if I've fake tanned or not.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer is a really important staple in my routine now. It's really good for helping with problem areas but i do love this around my eyes to help make me look less tired than i am forever feeling. It has decent coverage and can even cover my freckles too. Last but not least, the Olay Double Action Night Cream which I've raved about on so many occasions now you must be all getting bored. But, it's really saving my skin from the horrendous weather and keeping my skin hydrated and soft 24/7.

Low Cost Valentines Day Ideas ♥

Yes, yes i know. Not everyone celebrates Valentines day so let me get this off my chest now. I think it's nice to have a day devoted to being romantic, even if you do it all the time. Yes i know it's all about card companies making money. Does it stop me liking it? No. It's cute and i like it. Deal with it.

But i always feel like my idea of a romantic gesture is different to others. I'm not the most fond of fancy meals out as we're currently saving money but i don't like it to pass unnoticed. There are plenty of cute little things you can do on a smaller budget, like mine. This year i've done a few ready for the day.

My first little present to my fiancé was a photo wall. I'm a big lover of taking photos (which you'll know if you follow me on Instagram!) as i'm a big believer in capturing memories. So i decided to make this cute little hanging picture wall using my own photos that i turned into polaroid style pictures using Printiki*. I bought the 30 x Retro Square M size for under £10! Along with some twine and some mini pegs i had in my arts and crafts box, i had a cute photo wall for under £10 (which will be staying up as i love it so much). I love these photos as they are taken over the course of our 6 and a half years together and really show how different yet similar we are to who we were when we met (albeit older but not wiser). I also have a discount code, if like me, you're super sentimental and love physical copies of photos use this code: A87P5W23 for free shipping.

Another idea i've decided to use this year is a at home movie night. Our favourite movie and our favourite food. Snuggle up with duvets and relax without spending all the £ on going out.

*Items in this post were gifted, all opinions are my own.

DIY Body Scrub ♥

Maybe it's just me, but there is something really relaxing about DIYing. I love it and I'm obsessed with browsing Pinterest looking at ideas to do next. One thing i do quite often is a Make your own Body scrub as it's so quick and easy to do.

Pretty much what i do is i choose an oil to work with, I've used Baby Oil, Coconut oil and Argan Oil over the years but my personal favourite is coconut oil as its got so many great benefits for your skin. Then add in my 'scrub' which is usually sea salt or sugar. Then finish it off with some essential oils to give it a lovely fragrance. This time I've gone for a subtle peppermint fragrance as it feels really refreshing on the skin. It takes a few minutes and i always make sure i have a pretty jar on hand to pour it into and keep it in the bathroom. It's a quick craft and very easy on the purse strings but if you're feeling in an arts and crafts mood, but like me are creatively challenged it's pretty fun to do. There are so many great ideas on Pinterest i want to try when this jar is finished like a Coffee scrub.

Have you ever made your own products? Let me know so i can try them!

My Piercing Journey ♥

A bit of a different one today, i thought I'd speak about my life in regards to piercings. As a teenager, i was one of the 'alternative' kids who loved heavy music and tattoos and piercings (guess who hasn't changed in 10 years). Over the last 9/10 years I've been pierced over 40 times but i do currently only have 5 piercings in right now. I'm always talking about the urge to have another, as i do genuinely love piercings.

My first piercing (like most others) was my ear lobes when i was around 7 or 8. Through secondary school i really wanted more piercings but my school didn't allow any except one stud in each ear lobe. At 14, i had a second piercing in each lobe done (unfortunately, not professionally which i will always say is a bad idea). After that, it became a very common thing. I had my nose done a week before my 16th birthday - I've now had my nose done over 5 times as i kept changing the side i wanted it on. I even had both sides done at once for a few months, which i really liked, until i got a cold and realised it wasn't the most practical.

For me, I've never really had much problem with the 'pain' of piercings (and later tattoos). Also, i am quite lucky that I've always healed remarkably quick too. The worst for healing for me, was a helix piercing in my right ear which took over a year to heal as it had been pierced incorrectly and was always aggravated. I still have my ear stretched to 16mm currently, which I've had for over 7 years now - I've let it heal then gone back up again. I debate getting rid of it, but i think i would really miss it if i did.

There are always more piercings i want, I've been loving the look of Septum piercings for a long time and try some more surface piercings!

So for a little list, here is all the places I've had pierced over the last 10 years: Lobe x4, cartilage, nose x5, monroe x3, bottom lip, smiley, nipple, belly button, bottom belly button, hip surface piercings, tongue.

Would you like to see a similar post about tattoos?

My Favourite Powder Highlights ♥

We all love a good highlight don't we? What did we look like before these were a staple in our make up bags? I wonder. But I'm also a creature of habit and have found myself reaching for my favourites more often than not..

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Soft & Gentle is so gorgeous. This was probably one of the first items i ever bought from them. It's a golden peach highlight which is so soft and easy to apply and quickly sweep across your cheeks and the high points of your face. It's kind of pricey at £24.50 but for me, it's one of my favourite high end purchases ever. My other high end top powder highlighter is Too Faced Candlelight Glow Highlighter (Rosy Glow) which is the cutest design ever. You can mix the pink/white or use each separately to get different tones. My favourite from the high street is the MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter which is very shimmery. But it is gorgeous on the skin. It's more cool toned but it looks so good on - especially at night.

My Plans for 2018 ♥

I love the start of a new year, setting myself targets and looking into doing new things. For me, I've decided 2018 is going to be a big year for me. I want to start throwing myself into planning for my wedding, travel more and experience more things for the first time.

I'm really wanting to travel back to LA this year to go to Vans Warped tour - I've been twice before to LA but i loved it so much and i still haven't finished everything i wanted to do there. I've also been looking at other holidays - I'm really tempted about Disneyland Paris. I went 10 years ago with school but i didn't get to go on everything i wanted to or see everything i wanted to. I always see people on my news feed there and it looks so magical, i really need to go back!

In 2018, I'd really like to try and build my confidence up around blogging - go to more events, meet more people and just feel more comfortable in my own skin. I'm also considering a change - I've had that itch for a new tattoo for ages now and i haven't had a new one since May 2017 now so i am very tempted!

I have my own social media targets set for the year for my blog, and also lots of content and ideas to put into it which I'm quite looking forward to.

5 Products I can't live without ♥

We all have those products. That we swear by and always have in our collection/make up bag and panic and rush out to buy more when we are running a little bit low on them. I definitely do, the problem i find is only picking 5 was a bit hard for me. I reach for these products all the time and won't be giving them up any time soon.

Of course, it wouldn't be one of these posts if i didn't include the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer which is my go-to concealer and has been for so many years. So good for covering blemishes and for hiding dark circles under your eyes. I bleach my hair a lot, so the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moisture Deep Treatment is a godsend. I use this once or twice a week to keep my hair feeling soft and sleek - and to combat any signs of damage. For me keeping up with the blonde hair, purple shampoo is an essential and i love the Pro:Voke Touch of Silver Brightening Shampoo which is great for in-between appointments to keep my hair looking blonde rather than brassy toned.

I'm naturally very pale so any help in that regard is help happily received and my favourite tanning product of all time is the St. Moriz Medium Tanning Mousse which is so easy to apply and doesn't go streaky easily. Another bonus is it doesn't have that nasty fake tan smell and lasts well on the skin. Last but not least, the LUSH Sleepy Body Lotion which i only started using a few months ago religiously and i've become obsessed. It makes my skin smell so lush and feel so nourished. It's my favourite scent ever for a body lotion and it absorbs into my skin so quickly.

Lets get to know each other a little bit ♥

Sometimes it seems that with the little bio's we see on everyones Twitter, Instagram and blogs we know a little about that person. But sometimes, it's a little hard to sum yourself up in so little words - what is the best things to focus on?

I'm Rosie and I'm 23 years old currently. I live in England and I'm definitely a morning person, not a night owl. My favourite season is Summer and i hate being cold, rain and not seeing blue skies. I talk really fast all the time because i get so over excited. My favourite bands of all time are Motley Crue, Mayday Parade and I See Stars. I love watching movies but at home, I'm pretty much reading every moment i am awake.

I am physically incapable of having a lie in despite loving my sleep a lot. I have a really dark sense of humour and no filter whatsoever. My favourite movies are Silence of the Lambs, Lord of the Rings and Labyrinth. As a kid, i wanted to be a Marine Biologist after watching Jaws for the first time at age 6 (thanks to my older brother) and didn't eat fish until i was 18 because of this. I like spicy food and anything with carbs in it. I'd choose cheese over chocolate every time.

I'm quite an emotional person and constantly worry about every little thing. I like my music loud as possible and my favourite kind of night out is watching live music.

23 lessons learnt in 23 years ♥

So, in honour of this year marking my 24th birthday - i thought I'd bring a little something more serious to the blog today. We all go through our own lives and learn something all of the time but sometimes we learn different lessons. For me, these are the 23 lessons I've learnt in the last 23 years that are the most important to me.

You cannot make everybody happy. So, please stop trying. Make sure you are happy too.

Learn to become comfortable saying no. You don't have to do what someone else wants to do.

Cutting toxic people out of your life doesn't make you a bad person. It makes you a stronger person.

Take more photo's. I don't care if people laugh - it's nice to have physical proof of happy memories. Treasure photos and the moments you can relive looking at them.

There are some situations which can only be remedied by cups of tea and your dressing gown. We have all been through one of these.

It's OK to be angry or cry. You don't have to pretend your life is perfect all of the time.

You don't have to pretend to be something you're not to make friends. If you can't be yourself around them, they are not your real friends.

One day you will find yourself quoting old cliche's your parents said to you. And you will be horrified.

There will come a time when you start to sympathise with Disney Villains. You stop seeing the world as so black and white, there is now a lot of grey in there too. And they always had the best songs too.

Following your dreams is definitely a good idea. Don't let anyone tell you differently.

Experience more of the world. Travel. Gigs. Festivals. New experiences. There is nothing to lose from gaining more perspective.

It's OK to be different. You may be a little different, but that isn't a bad thing. Originality is a plus, not a problem.

Sing in the shower, like you're performing a power ballad in an area. Belt it out. It definitely feels good to let it all out.

Never go to bed angry. You never know what can happen, better to make up.

Don't doubt yourself. Be your own #1 fan.

You're not going to be friends with everyone. Stop trying so hard.

Don't compare yourself to others. Everyone has a different journey and destination. Comparing will only make you feel worse.

It costs nothing to be kind. This is valuable - being kind is free so be generous with it.

The saying 'You'll have to kiss a few frogs before finding your Prince' is true. Don't be discouraged. Its worth it when you find it.

Dress how you want. Don't let a magazine tell you what you should be wearing. If you like it, that's what matters.

Likes are not the be all and end all. Sometimes it's healthy to step away from social media and realise how little a few likes mean in the grand scheme of things.

Sometimes things don't work out how you thought they would. This isn't you failing, this is your life going in a different direction. Embrace change.

Never, ever ever hold yourself back. Never ever ever.

My Top 5 Beauty Products under £5 ♥

I'm more of a budget person. I do love my high end products but there is something really satisfying about finding a great product that works for you that is purse friendly. Also, with the amount of saving i am currently doing, high end splurges are not very high on my list at the moment so I'm being careful with what i buy. But over the last 4 years blogging and the last 6+ years of wearing make up, I've found quite a few little gems for very affordable prices.

My first item is the Make Up Revolution The One Contour Stick (£1.50 TAM Beauty) is my go-to for cream bronzer and I'd say i use this everyday. It's so creamy and easy to blend despite it being quite dark, it really works for me. I have always loved the Barry M Nail Paints (£2.99 Boots) which are my usual nail polish - due to how affordable they are and they have a really great range of colours too. I have quite a few shades from them and I've loved them all. Another gem which I've spoken about 100 times or more, is the Garnier Micellar Water (£4.99 Boots) which is always in my skincare routine. It's so gentle so it doesn't inflame your skin but really helps get rid of any nasty build ups in your pores and remove your make up.

Another cult blogger favourite is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (£4.19 Boots) which we all know and love. It's perfect for under-eyes and covering blemishes. Last but not least, i love the MUA Eyeshadow Palettes which are an absolute steal at £4 each. They have so many different palettes and my personal favourite is Heaven & Earth. You can create so many looks on a tight budget and the formula of these shadows is much better than the price tag suggests. 10/10 would recommend.

Winter Proof Skin - My Secret to Hydrated Skin ♥

Well, let's face it, as someone with a dry skin type Winter is not my favourite time of year. It's windy and cold and just generally a bit meh. I have to take so much care in winter to make sure my skin is extra hydrated so i don't end up with flakey skin.

My biggest tip for hydrated skin, is lots and lots of water. it's pretty much my go-to tip for all skincare woes really. I love water bottles and I'm currently using this cute one from Primark. Making sure you drink a couple of litres of water a day will keep your skin hydrated and also helps with breakouts too. I always like to give a little extra TLC at this time of year and i rave about this all of the time but the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask is pretty perfect for this. It also has a really fresh fruity scent which is really pleasant.

I am pretty obsessive about moisturising all year round but i do get a little bit worse at this time of year. For an everyday moisturiser before i apply my make up I'm loving the Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser which is as the name suggests, light on the skin. It doesn't weigh it down but gives enough moisture to keep the weather at bay. It doesn't aggravate my sensitive skin either which is a massive plus too. For night creams, i am in love with the Olay Double Action Night cream which smells heavenly. It absorbs into the skin so quickly and leaves your skin feeling so soft and supple (and hydrated!). This is best for everyday use and I've really noticed a difference since using this/.

Jeffree Star 24 Karat Skin Frost Pro Palette ♥

This might make me a bad beauty blogger, but until recently i didn't own any Jeffree Star products. I've always loved the look of it, the packaging is beautiful. But i didn't take the plunge. I remember when Jeffree was famous just for his music (i also remember seeing him at my local venue almost 10years ago with my fiancé supporting!).

Anyway, in the after Christmas sale, i decided to take the plunge and grab myself the Jeffree Star 24 Karat Skin Frost Pro Palette. I fell in love instantly. I have never seen such pigmented highlighters ever. Nor have i ever felt a powdered product be so soft either! The formula is absolutely amazing. My favourite shades are Sarcophagus and King Tut.

They last really well on the skin - i didn't need to top up at all. The highlighters are so easy to use and versatile, depending on how much product you use you can go for a very light and subtle look or a more bold and eye popping look.

L to R: Sarcophagus, King Tut and Dark Horse

Top to Bottom: Legendary, Giza and Liberace

December 2017 Favourites ♥

OMG, It's 2018! How has 2017 flown by so fast? i've had such a great 2017 so i'm hoping to make 2018 even more special. Anyway, a new month means a monthly favourites post for the last month. December is a very busy month for me with birthdays, christmas and parties.

My first favourite is the lovely Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask which is my favourite overnight mask ever. I do also like the 10 minute version but i love using this one. It smells heavenly and it always leaves my skin feeling so soft and fresh. I've been obsessed with the Milani 2in1 Conceal + Perfect Foundation which i wrote a full review about here. It's such brilliant coverage and leaves your skin looking flawless! For my contouring needs, i've been using the NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny which is great for any pale skin tone. It's quite light and doesn't leave your face looking dirty.

I do love A/W for going more bold on my eye looks - and i've been loving using the MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study as the base. It's a light champagne and really keeps your shadows on for longer. Last but not least, i do love rocking a statement lip and i've been reaching for the NYX Lip Lingerie in Embellishment as it's so beautiful. It can get quite dry so i make sure to use a lot of lip scrub and lip balm before using and it doesn't budge for hours on end.
